Gori: Cuddly Carnage Gives Us More For The Cat ‘N’ Slash Game

Gori: Cuddly Carnage

Gori is back to show off a bit more for the upcoming Gori: Cuddly Carnage that will be leaping from some comic panels

The carnage is building and building more for Gori: Cuddly Carnage with a new bit to take in for the game. A new bit that shows off how Angry Demon Studio will be embracing some comic book storytelling style for the game. Not to mention a solid way to transition from some fun looks at how Gori will be hacking and slashing through this new and weird world. That is going to be what sells this title more, given how the internet usually goes about it all. I could be a little wrong, but we will just have to wait and see for now. Which, speaking of, let us have a look at this new video to get us further ready for this extra carnage.

As you will see below, we will have a lot more grinding and slashing with Gori in this game than we thought. Not only that, but a whole lot more in the way of viscera and other gore, as the name implies, to cover the screens out there. An interesting look at some of the environments here, though, does make it feel like we could be seeing a few different testing zones to play with in the game. Given the core elements of A.I. and such, this could also just be the world that Gori lives in and is trying to save or escape. I am a little fuzzy on all of that, but that does not mean it does not look like a fun and impressive title to have out there.

Gori: Cuddly Carnage — Off Panel

The cat is out of the bag – and it is ANGRY!

Revealed during THE MIX event in the summer of 2023, this brand new trailer embraces the comic book storytelling and style of Gori whilst revealing a never before seen level, showcasing new environments, enemies, and new combat traversal mechanics, as well as a sneak peek at another one of the gloriously grotesque and twisted boss creatures you’ll be taking apart in spectacularly violent fashion.

Bask in the high-energy thrill of visceral blood-soaked combat as Gori battles against a rampant A.I. hell-bent on ending his 9 lives as he slaughters armies of mutated toys across a twisted world full of arcade machines!

Take the fight into the circuitry and even the code of the games themselves and attempt to claw your way through each machines challenges, where every new cabinet is a new set of rules to slay out to using your sentient murderous hoverboard friend F.R.A.N.K to unleash devastating combos, glory kills, and powerful charged abilities such as the slamwheel and rocket shots to take the mutated toy hordes to pieces.

Developed in Unreal Engine 5 and winner of the Epic MegaGrant, Gori: Cuddly Carnage is an ultra-violent third-person cat ‘n’ slash set in a futuristic neon world. A multi-layered and unprecedented adventure, Gori: Cuddly Carnage is jam-packed with vivid and immersive environments whilst allowing the player to perform gnarly acrobatics in a positively brutal combat experience filled with high-speed and intense destruction.

While it is a cool look for this trailer, it is hard to see if Gori: Cuddly Carnage is going to be fully embracing the kind of storytelling it states or how it is going to come across. It does look like they are talking about using basic animatics and such within certain panels, which is not unheard of, but it also feels like this is just how the edit for the trailer was done instead. When done right, this kind of storytelling flows well in a game when the team is small or limited as this one is. It could also be just as easy for the team to just freeze on the characters and let the dialog flow instead. Maybe I am just reading into all of this the wrong way. None of which lowers any excitement I do have for Gori: Cuddly Carnage.

How do you suspect the full story for Gori will be shown off and will it lean heavier into the comic panels? Will there be more than just the usual save the world or escape the evil story here? Will any of that matter if the gameplay is solid enough and we are covered in enough blood for hours on end? Take to the comment section and let the world and us know what you are thinking about all of this. There will be much more for Gori: Cuddly Carnage, so please keep checking back in for all of those updates and everything else that we have to follow up with.
