Have A Bit Of Toxic Shock For A Limited Time In The Outlast Trials

The Outlast Trials

There is more to experience for Outlast with the next limited-time event going down in The Outlast Trials

Another experiment is about to start and you need to get in on it within The Outlast Trials. Not that it seems that any of us will have an option too, in the game, as it seems the villains that Red Barrels have created in that universe are going to force everyone they can into the trials. Along with the latest trial, Toxic Shock, that is kicking off today (April 16th, 2024) and will go until May 7th. It has not taken a long time to get more of that Outlast fix, but it is happening nonetheless. Time to hop back into the game and see what is about to go down for this limited time. We are not going to want to miss out on this program.

During this event in The Outlast Trials, we are going to need to go about the various environments and collect a bunch of drugged-up rats. That does not sound too hard, even with the various killers chasing us all down. The harder part is that we will be getting gassed randomly and if we are not able to find a place to hide from it all, we will take some permanent damage. Something that will certainly make it harder to complete those objectives and survive in The Outlast Trials. All so we can earn some of those exclusive rewards just for this event and be able to show off to the world that we have made it through more of the horrors that these villains want to make all endure.

The Outlast Trials — Toxic Shock

Toxic Shock is an experiment in the symbiotic action of chemically induced pain and permanent damage. Recover all the drugged rats within the Trials for tissue analysis. Fulfill the secondary objective for additional rewards. Toxic Shock will last until May 7th at 10AM EST.

This update also features a new Courthouse and Toy Factory MK-Challenge, a new Weekly program, and several fixes and balancing changes.

From April 16 to May 7, 2024, The Outlast Trials will introduce Toxic Shock, a new realm of terror featuring:

  • Time Limited Program “Toxic Shock”: An experiment in the symbiotic action of chemically-induced pain and permanent damage.
  • New Variator: Toxic Shock – The Trial environment sporadically fills with toxic gas, inflicting permanent damage. Hide to stay alive.
  • New Secondary Objective: Collect The Rats – Recover all the drugged rats within the Trial for tissue analysis. Fulfill the objective for additional rewards.
  • Complete Trials in this time-limited program to earn exclusive Toxic Shock Rewards.
  • Uncover the secrets of Toxic Shock by locating new evidence documents scattered throughout the Trials
  • …and many quality-of-life improvements

It is unclear to me if the damage we will take will carry over to other trials, events, and after this event is over. That seems like it would be a way to purge players from The Outlast Trials by just having them log on for the next month and try to play the game. I will side on the idea that this damage will only carry over between the various waves and trials but once we are back in our little cells, it will be healed. I know I would be insanely upset if I was permanently hindered in the game if I went into one of these trials where the rest of the crew was not working well in the real world. I guess we can log on and see if this update should be live in The Outlast Trials as you are reading all of this.

Are you going to jump back into the world of Outlast with this update or are you worried this will alter your characters down the line? Is the word ‘permanent’ being used incorrectly here or will this truly alter our toons along the way and make us wish we did not play? Will all of those rewards be worth the risk or just more of the cosmetic items we can show off in the game? Head into the comments and let us all know your thoughts on this and then feel free to discuss. If there is more for The Outlast Trials, know we will share it all here for you. Please keep on checking back in for all of those updates and the many others we will have as this all carries onward.
