Have A Drink As Final Fantasy XV Has Been Delayed A Bit

Final Fantasy XV

The release date for Final Fantasy XV has been pushed out and we won’t be seeing Final Fantasy XV until around this Holiday Season

This all started out as a small rumor over the weekend but it looks like these Final Fantasy XV rumors have ended up being true. As it looks, it doesn’t look like Square Enix will be bringing us the game on September 30th anymore as it has been hit with a delay of sorts. Yes, it is sad but Final Fantasy XV has now been delayed until November 29th worldwide for the PS4 and Xbox One. Just about two months and with most of it being listed with the most generic of reasons of “needing more polish” to make it the best version of the game ever.

As it turns out, it looks like there is currently a “Master Version” of Final Fantasy XV out there in the wild and it will be playable out at Gamescom and we’ll have a nice 30-minute video of gameplay coming too. But as it goes it looks like there has been a lot of work that went into the “Day One Patch” that was slated to come with the game on the original date. But fears that not everyone will have access to download the patch has driven the team to delay the game two months to make sure that this patch is part of the disc release. Kind of an odd reasoning in this day in age but that is the excuse we have as to why most of us can’t just play the game now and worry on our end about downloading the update.

It does sound like there will be more than just a few tweaks and fixes in this patch for Final Fantasy XV though as well as maybe some further content. I’d hope so to explain off this drastic of a delay for something that could be handled digitally for a great portion of the gamers out there. I am sure that the number of non-connected consoles is relatively low but Square Enix wants to press it all to disc none the less so it must be that important. Although one couldn’t tell from the very droll delivery of the reasons behind the delay that you can see just below.

Final Fantasy XV — An Important Message from Director Tabata

“From the moment we joined this project, our vision was to create a level of freedom and realism previously unseen in the series. Regrettably, we need a little bit more time to deliver on this vision and are confident that this new release date will help us achieve this,” said Hajime Tabata the game director. “As the director and lead of this project, I wish to personally apologize for the additional wait. As a team, we want Final Fantasy XV to achieve a level of perfection that our fans deserve. We kindly ask for your understanding.”

Are you gathering the pitchforks and torches of the delay of Final Fantasy XV or are you okay with it as it will give you a better game; hopefully? Do you buy the need for the delay truly being due to gamers not having access to download a patch or is this their way of buying more time in general? Do you think this is to add more content or just to make sure the game doesn’t crash out of the box? Let us know your thoughts and feel free to discuss in the comments below. For more on Final Fantasy XV as it comes out be sure to stay right here as we’ll have all of the updates that get released.
