Have A Listen To The Sounds Of Fear In Alan Wake 2

Alan Wake 2

The audio for Alan Wake 2 is aiming to haunt us just as much as it did the first time around in Alan Wake

The next behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming Alan Wake 2 is here for us to hear a little more on how the sound design of the game is coming together. Something that sounds like it is going to hit hard when Remedy Entertainment drops the game on October 27th. That is the perfect time for some of the spooky and horror noises to hit us out there. With Alan Wake 2 landing on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC at the right time, maybe we should dive into it all here. Sit back and get ready to hear how things are going to unnerve us all a bit more when the game launches out there before Halloween.

This new look at Alan Wake 2 shows how the sound team has crafted their own gear and waterlogged other gear to help hit the correct sounds out there for the game and the Dark Place. It is a realm that has shown to be in the murky depths before, so that all feels like it is going to track once again. Along with the team going out to actually capture trees and leaves rustling and other outdoor elements to make the Pacific Northwest come further alive in the game. Some nice touches, along with them bringing the Old Gods Of Asgard back in from the first Alan Wake while using the real-world band they actually come from. It sounds, pun intended, as if the game is going to give us all of that familiar with some new once again. Have a look and see just below.

Alan Wake 2 — The Sound Of Fear [BTS]

Go behind the scenes of the development of Alan Wake 2. We visit the Pacific Northwest and the Dark Place and talk to many talented developers across different disciplines that helped shape this ambitious sequel.

Episode 4 discusses the role that music and sound design play in Alan Wake 2, and Remedy Entertainment‘s philosophy in creating audio for the game.

Alan Wake 2 releases October 27th on PlayStation 5, PC via the Epic Games Store, and Xbox Series X|S.

I am insanely excited to see the band back in action for Alan Wake 2, even if I am curious about how they got all of that to line up here. I am guessing that the older versions of the characters are still trapped in the Dark Place for Alan to interact with or through these live-action elements getting mixed in for the game. I always thought they were underused in the original Alan Wake and maybe we will see more in the mix here. Along with all of the other horrific sounds that we have from the slapped-together metal pieces out there. There is no denying that Remedy is bringing it all here for this title again and the sounds are going to take us all right into the dark depths once again soon.

Are you glad to hear all of the work that the Alan Wake team is putting in here or will all of those subtle things go missed out along the way? Did you want to see the band back together in this game or were you never expecting to hear from them again? Did you always get the feeling that the Dark Place was submerged or is that just a good way to distort the audio to put us off-kilter in the game? Take to the comment section to discuss all of this and everything else that we can share with you out there. We will have more to hear for Alan Wake 2 as we head closer to the release date. Just be sure to keep checking in for those updates and many others.
