Hear How Adaptive The Audio For Mutant Year Zero: Road To Eden Is Going To Be

Mutant Year Zero: Road To Eden

A new developer video for Mutant Year Zero: Road To Eden is here to demonstrate just how the music and audio for Mutant Year Zero will be

When it comes to all of our games, it can be little things in the mix that we miss that can have a larger impact and that seems to be the way Mutant Year Zero: Road To Eden is going here. At least if you look at how the audio is being used in the game by The Bearded Ladies. Specifically, the music of the game as it looks like it will not just be the same set thing over and over but it will change and morph as the situations of Mutant Year Zero progress. Kind of like how a great GM will swap up the playlist to fit the mood of the events in a tabletop game or to set some background sense of urgency. Something we will all be glad to hear when this tabletop adaptation hits the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on December 4th.

The full video is included below, but recently the composer for Mutant Year Zero sat down to take us all through a small section of the game to show how the score will blend and work together with everything going on in the game. Not only that, but it will stay fluid and random so each playthrough can even sound different from the one before. It is a little hard to understand that without actually hearing it, but what will be going on in Mutant Year Zero is a new system that will move between audio portions to fit the actions you or the enemies are currently taking. Even when you are idle, things will swirl and shift.

Not only that, but some of these bits of the score are woven in to let you know when your team has an advantage on the combat field and when the enemies have the same advantage. It is very interesting to see and hear play out as it is something we should always be keeping an ear out for. Especially when it works just in the way you would expect. If you are feeling on edge in a fight, it is most likely because the enemies have an advantage and you may not see it as of yet. Just another great way to suck us all into the world and lose many hours to it.
