Hellboy Web Of Wyrd
The release date for Hellboy Web Of Wyrd is set with Hellboy coming at us all this coming October now
In a fun little shocker out there for us all out of Gamescom 2023, it looks like we finally have a release date for Hellboy Web Of Wyrd. The fun-looking new rogue-lite title from Upstream Arcade has only had a short little stint in the new circuits, but that seems to mean that the team had it mostly ready to go before letting it out there into the world. Now, we only have to wait another month or so, with Hellboy Web Of Wyrd releasing on October 4th on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC. About when we all thought it would be landing but also making October a full month when it comes to video game releases.
Interestingly, it looks like that along with the release date announcement for Hellboy Web Of Wyrd, it looks as if we have some true gameplay to look at in the mix here too. In the past, we have had a few videos labeled that, but this one shows Hellboy moving about the world and a little bit more on how the combat will actually function in the game. There is still a little bit of the comic style to it all, and not just in the art, but it feels like it will be closer to a brawler title in general with some shooting mixed in. All to fit the character a bit better while also giving us something that feels like it will sit in the rogue-lite style too. Have a look and see what you could be enjoying in just over a month from now.
Hellboy Web Of Wyrd — Release Date
Hellboy Web Of Wyrd is a rogue-lite brawler developed by Upstream Arcade and published by Good Shepherd Entertainment. Coming to all platforms on October 4th.
Hellboy Web Of Wyrd is a rogue-lite action adventure with an original story created in partnership with Dark Horse Comics and creator Mike Mignola.
Featuring monstrous toe-to-toe brawling, you need to chain together hard-hitting melee and ranged attacks to fight a diverse array of increasingly nightmarish enemies.
Like the comics, the game sends Hellboy on a series of vastly different and wholly unique adventures. While those stories stand on their own, they are all tied to the mysterious legacy of The Butterfly House. When an agent of the B.P.R.D. is sent on a reconnaissance mission to the mansion and promptly goes missing. It’s up to you – Hellboy – and your team of Bureau agents to find your missing colleague and uncover the secrets of The Butterfly House.
Welcome to the Butterfly House, a mysterious manor of perverse angles and non-Euclidean geometry built by occultist Pasquale Deneveaux to open a gateway to the Wyrd, a vast, interdimensional web of wondrous and horrifying planes of existence beyond our world. When a B.P.R.D. agent vanishes inside the mansion, it’s up to Hellboy and his team of agents to uncover its forbidden secrets.
Journey into the deepest realms of the Wyrd, each hiding a unique investigation into the unknown. Battle powerful creatures in search of forgotten god forms and magnificent treasures, but beware: ancient evil festers within the Wyrd’s darkest reaches… evil that wants out.
Key Game Features:
- An Authentic Comic Adaptation: Experience gripping storytelling, visuals, and atmosphere that evoke the distinct style of the original comics, crafted in collaboration with series creator Mike Mignola. Every moment looks and feels like it was ripped right from the comics.
- A New Story Inspired By The Hellboy Universe: Unravel a sprawling, spine-tingling original adventure true to the spirit of the comics and brought to life with the illustrious voice of Lance Reddick as Hellboy.
- Become The Legendary Hellboy: Explore the secret depths of the Wyrd, discovering wonders and terrors beyond your imagination. Chain together hard-hitting melee and ranged attacks in challenging combat against a nightmarish menagerie of otherworldly monsters to survive.
Hellboy Web Of Wyrd is in development for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
I am still a little torn on how Hellboy Web Of Wyrd will function as a full game, but it is looking closer and closer to the type of game I do enjoy. Even if I am not a fan of the Roguelike or Rogue-lite style of things. This feels closer to titles like Darksiders to me more than anything now, which is a line of games I absolutely love. This is all based on the trailers and little gameplay snippets, so that could change. That does not mean I am not excited to get to have a little more Hellboy in my life, though, so I will be keeping minds open for it and now be looking forward to early October to get to see if it is going to live up to my hopes.
Were you expecting to see Hellboy back out there this early in the month or did you think it was going to be later in October? Does it feel like the game is closer to a brawler and shooter than anything or is that just hopeful thoughts on a game that may not be what we expect? How rough do you think that the rogue-lite elements will be in the game or will it only be specific elements to allow the game to stand out a bit more on its own? Head to the comment section to discuss all of that. We will keep sharing what we can for Hellboy Web Of Wyrd, so all you have to do is keep checking back in for all of that here. We will hopefully not let you down by it at all.
