Here’s Why You Should Pre-Order Street Fighter V

Street Fighter V

Street Fighter V — Collector’s Edition

The pre-order bonuses for Street Fighter V have been revealed as well as a nice new Collector’s Edition for Street Fighter V

Is there a triple ‘A’ title that isn’t going to have a collector’s edition? It looks like we can add Street Fighter V into the mix there for another game that will be getting a bigger and badder bundle for the game. At least the Street Fighter V one is only slated at being a cheaper $99.99 USD and is coming with pretty much the basics of a CE as of late. Good on Capcom for lowering the price point a little bit as there are already so many titles outside of Street Fighter V for the PS4 and PC that will need to be purchased with a collector’s edition early next year. Our bank accounts can’t go through all of this. Seriously…

As for what is in the Street Fighter V collector’s edition, like I said, it is pretty standard. There is the game, and artbook, DLC codes, and of course a nice little statue of Ryu doing the pose for Street Fighter V. Although in the following image Capcom has noted that this is not the final statue but a work in progress. Just like Street Fighter V what we see now will most likely not what we get next spring. We would be daft to think that as there is still so much time to go and so much more to add to Street Fighter V from now until then. This is what we have though:

Street Fighter V - Collector's Edition

Street Fighter V – Collector’s Edition

  • Street Fighter V game disc – The standard Street Fighter V game disc and case is included in every Collector’s Edition.
  • 10 inch, fully painted Ryu statue – Meticulously articulated and commanding in stature, the sculpture depicts Ryu preparing for his next battle. The Collector’s Edition packaging is specially windowed as well so that you can see the top half of the statue from the outside.
  • 48p hardcover artbook – Jam-packed with design sketches and other behind-the-scenes materials that shed light behind the development process of the game.
  • Code Cards for additional downloadable content:
    • Udon Digital Street Fighter Comics (A collection of some of Udon’s finest work with the Street Fighter comic series.)
    • Street Fighter V Soundtrack Sampler (Curated selection of some of the best tunes from the game.)
    • Twitch One-Month Subscription to Capcom Fighters channel. This bonus is actually included with every standard copy of Street Fighter V, and gives a free one-month subscription to the Capcom Fighters channel on Twitch, which grants exclusive access to special Street Fighter chat emoticons, as well as video archive access.

If this is the version of Street Fighter V that you are looking to get then we have yet another item to bring up here. As is also the norm as of late it matters on where you go to pre-order Street Fighter V as there is a little extra bonus being given out to all of us from Capcom. We have new skins for characters in the game based on where you pre-order. Of course this also may limit you on not being able to get the Street Fighter V collector’s edition based on where as the digital stores will most likely not ship out the statue but you have the options and there is a skin there too.

While they will make your Street Fighter V character of choice look a bit cooler it is also worth noting that is the length that it will go. No cool upgrades or specials for Street Fighter V based on the skin. Just a different look and feel. Capcom is working hard on just making the game balanced as possible that we can’t expect them to offer up game-breaking extras just for Street Fighter V here. Or could we? We can do whatever we want I guess but we are not going to be getting it here in Street Fighter V though.

GameStop: Battle Costume Ryu

Best Buy: Battle Costume Cammy

Amazon: Battle Costume M. Bison

PlayStation Store/PC Digital: Battle Costume Chun-Li

What are your thoughts on this Street Fighter V collector’s edition here? Will you be pre-ordering the game and if so, which outlet has the best costume for you? Were you hoping for more than just cosmetic changes for Street Fighter V based on your pre-order? Let us know in the comments and let the discussion fly. Spring 2016 is still a ways of here so be sure to keep checking in for more from Capcom on Street Fighter V as we will have everything a fighting gamer would want for the game. At least I’d like to think so.
