Hitman
Two new mini-episodes for Hitman have been added into the mix to expand the world of Hitman just a bit more for the summer
It was certainly looking like we were going to be getting a new episode of Hitman each month since its launch as we have since. Sadly, it looks like Io Interactive has fallen a bit behind on that schedule or that was just the assumption we all had since we saw a new one by the end of each month until now. Whatever the case may be, it looks like we are getting a few new bits of gameplay as well as some new missions in Hitman for this Summer. There is no word out of Square Enix if this will be what we get for the summer and nothing else but it looks like there is a bit more of the game to be played on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC as of right now.
If you picked up the whole experience out of the gate or upgraded as you could for Hitman, then you have two new missions to check out as of right now and for the low price of Free. I am not sure if there will be an option for players buying each episode a la cart but for those not we are getting a bit more story out of the game as well as ways to kill some people. At least in Marrakesh and Sapienza as that is where both of these missions are set up and have stories that take place in the Hitman universe but are not attached to the main narrative. So pretty much just more fun that isn’t fully needed.
Hitman — Summer Bonus Episode
In Sapienza, ‘The Icon’, sees the town taken over by a film crew shooting a new sci-fi blockbuster complete with a 100ft mechanical killer robot in the middle of the town square – what sort of accidents lie in wait with a whole film set, complete with pyrotechnics, at your disposal..?
And in ‘A House Built on Sand’ players will travel to the noisy and busy night markets of Marrakesh where Agent 47 must stop a billion dollar deal taking place.
The Summer Bonus Episode presents players with a range of new in-game Challenges and Opportunities that will keep them busy along with a new type of setting for Escalation Contracts and Elusive Targets.
I am glad to see that Hitman is getting more than just a few challenges and minor contracts as has been the case so long. Especially since the Elusive Targets have been few and far between and the most exciting thing since the last episode. It would be awesome to see both of these have a lasting effect on the main story but we can only take what we are being given. I know I want to kill a target with a 100ft robot and wish it would stay around every time I replay the missions. If only…
Are you excited to get back into some solid Hitman action or do you think this is just a way to buy some more time before the next major episode? Do you also want this all to have a lasting effect on the game’s world? Do you think that those hold out who purchase each episode on their own will get the chance to play these? Let us know what you think and feel free to discuss in the comments below. For all things Hitman be sure to stay right here as we will keep bringing you all of the updates and news as they all come out. Now back to killing another elusive target and the new marks here.
