Vampyr
A new video series for Vampyr is on its way to take us deeper into the game as well as show off some new gameplay for Vampyr as we loom toward its launch
It has been some time since we last heard anything on Vampyr and how that was all going. In fact, last we all heard DontNod had to place some delays on the game until sometime this year as they wanted to make sure it was the best version of the game for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC when it finally does come. Sadly, there is not much more on Vampyr as of yet but it looks like in the coming weeks we will know a lot more. If my senses are correct, it could also mean that we will have a release date coming just as quickly as well. At least based on the announcement that is going to go on over the next four weeks.
That may a be a bit off with the explanation there, but that does not change the fact that we are getting a weekly video series for Vampyr starting next week that will take us deeper into the game. There will be some gameplay and there will be some “how the game was made” kind of bits here for us to all take in. It just also seems likely that it will be followed up with a solid release schedule for us as this does look to be part of a larger marketing scheme. It could also just be there to remind us that Vampyr is still coming and that we need to be ready for it when it does. It has been about six months of mostly silence up to now and I know a few people who have forgotten it was even in the works. What horrible times we live in here…
Do not think we do not have something to show you for all of this though as we have a nice tease for these new Vampyr videos that will be coming. Starting on the 18th and then for the next three weeks we will get a new one. There are all kinds of promises that can be assumed here, but for now, just have a look and then get ready to see something new in the coming weeks. At least if DontNod keeps up with what we all assume should be coming.
Vampyr — Web Series Teaser
Watch the teaser trailer, for this unique web series produced and realized by the video department of Focus Home Interactive. In each 5-minute episode, the French developer invites fans into the heart of their Parisian studio to unveil exclusive new gameplay footage accompanied with deep insight into their creative process, beginning with Episode I: Making Monsters on January 18th.
In the first episode, Making Monsters, Dontnod delves into their signature identity and reasons behind putting players into the role of a conflicted predator. The studio will make players feel the duality that torments doctor-turned-vampire Jonathan Reid, giving them the freedom to choose who to sacrifice and who to save. Every killing has consequences, and it’s up to players to balance their need to feed and grow stronger, with the rapidly deteriorating city of London.
Four episodes are planned in total for the weekly series:
- Episode I: Making Monsters
- Episode II: Architects of the Obscure
- Episode III: Human After All
- Episode IV: Stories From the Dark
You still remember that Vampyr is a game and that it is coming to us right? Do you think that all of this will lead to an official release date for the game or will it just be some quick reminders that it is coming and to keep it all on the radar? Do you think that the wait will truly be worth it all or will it be going up against some other larger titles that it may have been the wrong choice to go with? Let us all know down in the comments and then discuss. We will keep coving Vampyr for you here so be sure to check back for those new videos and any other information we can scrounge up as we wait for the release.
