Homefront: The Revolution
A new trailer for Homefront: The Revolution has surfaced with a bit more of the story and tone for Homefront even though it feels a lot like stories of the past
Here we go with yet another trailer for Homefront: The Revolution and this one is quite explosive. Literally here as it has been jam packed with all kinds of in-game footage from Dambuster Studios to show off just how poorly Philadelphia has fallen in the game’s world. This of course is something that anyone who has kept their eyes on Homefront since the franchise popped up would know to be is “not good.” If it was good then we wouldn’t have much of a game and Deep Silver wouldn’t be looking to get much back from us when it launches on May 17th.
It may be a bit difficult to spot here but it looks like there are more than just freedom fighters hidden about in this trailer too. It looks like we also get to see a bit of Homefront: The Revolution‘s “Hearts And Minds” system that helps shape the world based on your actions. To be more direct, the more you tear down the KPA in the game the more the civilians in the area will start to lash back too. You are sparking a revolution in the game’s world so it would make perfect sense for the world to fight back once it has someone to rally behind and this is just that.
In terms of direct in-game mechanics there isn’t much revealed for “Hearts And Minds” but it has been stated that the civilian population will join you in full acts of defiance to the point where the entire Zone in Homefront could be shut down or on lockdown. I read that as a drawback as lockdown isn’t always a good thing but I am guess it would keep the KPA busy so you can run amuck in the background. At least hopefully.
Homefront: The Revolution — Ignite
It does kind of make me sad that it does look even more like Homefront: The Revolution is pretty much Red Dawn the video game based on the story and actions portrayed in all of the trailers thus far. By no means am I saying that is a bad thing but it is something I have already experienced and would love to see something truly new. Even if it is along similar lines. It just seems like it is almost a full lift here. Hopefully it is just how all the trailers and clips are put together and my reference points.
What are your thoughts now on Homefront: The Revolution? Do you see the “Hearts And Minds” feature in the above trailer and see how it could shape your gaming experience? Do you agree that it is looking more and more like a story we’ve seen many times before? Let us know and discuss away in the comments below. As we get more on Homefront: The Revolution and other things like it we will have it here for you. Be sure to stick around so you don’t miss out on one little tidbit of gaming news.
