Judas Will Want Us To Try To Fix What We Have Broken Out There

Judas

One more trailer for Judas is out there to show off more of the gameplay and story that Judas will have for us

Since the reveal of Judas back in 2022, yes it has been that long, there has not been all that much to go on from the game. Outside of the basics we could assume from what Ghost Story Games was already known for with the team and game director. After all of this time, it looks as if they were ready to give us more during the latest PlayStation State Of Play event. Only a little bit more, but something that will highlight that Judas is both very similar and very different from the other titles in any of their histories. A good portion of the team and director had massive hands in the BioShock line for those not in the know. Here we go with a look to see if it will be vastly different when it hits the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC maybe later this year.

We already knew that Judas was going to go for more of a Sci-Fi look and feel over the Steampunk of the other titles, but now it looks like it is also going with a little more on the cyberpunk side of things too. We are still on a spaceship, but it looks like the story revolves more around citizens spying and reporting on each other and machines being more in control than before. It looks as if the Judas the game’s title is referring to might be our protagonist who seems to have broken the system and started some kind of revolution. All while still running and gunning with special powers in one hand and a gun in the other. With a character design that feels right at home in the BioShock style of games. Not a terrible thing at all, but just something that feels like it is worth noting along the way. Here, have a look and see at the latest we have for the game and just what else we might be doing out there in space.

Judas — Who Is Judas?

Judas is a single-player, narrative first-person shooter developed by Ghost Story Games, a studio led by Ken Levine, Director of System Shock 2, BioShock, and BioShock Infinite.

Explore the corridors of the Mayflower, a spacefaring city whose citizens are trained to spy on one another and tear each other apart for the slightest offense. Where machines control every aspect of business, art, and government. The ship’s leaders tried to turn you into something you’re not: a model citizen. And you sparked a devastating revolution to tear it all down.

Do you want to fix what you broke or leave it all to burn?

That’s a decision only you can make.

When all is said and done for Judas, this looks like it is going to be just as intense of ride as all of the other titles listed in the pedigree of the head of the studio. In fact, I would not be surprised if we came to find out that it was all set in the same universe of sorts as part of the twist out there. I would find that to be a fun deviation from things and still keep it locked in for more fun to be had. Even if it does mean that there could be more of those hacking minigames in the mix for Judas. That was something that felt like it was more of a bog in the other titles and not truly needed. In this future setting, though, it feels almost as a given that we will be doing some of that while not just in cutscenes or cinematics along the way. Maybe we will get a long gameplay breakdown soon and a release date so we can better understand it all.

How are you feeling about Judas after this new bit of info and gameplay we had dumped on us? Could the game be near completion since it was worked on for at least two years before the announcement we had back in 2022? Could this still link back to the other titles or will it only have the nods through the basics and character styles that the director is well-known for? Slide on down to the comment section to discuss it all and let the world know just what else you are thinking. We are going to have a lot more for Judas in the near future, I am sure, so please come on back to see and hear about all of that as soon as we can share it.
