Get ready to survive the Terminator one more time with the upcoming Early Access for Terminator: Survivors
We finally have full word on what was teased to us last year from NACON and soon we will get to see what is coming for Terminator: Survivors. Soon might be a little off, but it does look as if the game is heading to Early Access on October 24th of this year on the PC. All so it can get some things ironed out and ready to also hit the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S down the line. Just in time for a massive anniversary for the Terminator IP at that. Timing and all of that is truly key for games like this. But for now, we will turn to what the game is all about and what else we might have to reveal.
After waiting as long as we did for this announcement for Terminator: Survivors, we now get to know just a bit more about this open-world survival game we will get to play. In it, we will get to take control of a group of survivors and try to survive the new world that was created after the events of the first two films. Doing all of the normal survival thing along with staying clear of the Terminator as well. Pretty much sounds as if we are getting the true game that many fans of the IP have wanted for a long time and the later films did not portray it all that well. Mix in the fact we can play this all solo or in a co-op mode, this sounds like it could be what many have been looking to bring the IP truly back to life. Terminator: Survivors — The Aftermath
Terminator: Survivors is an open-world survival game set in the world of the famous sci-fi franchise Terminator, created by James Cameron and Gale Anne Hurd in 1984. In this original story taking place after the first two films, you take control of a group of survivors of Judgment Day, in solo or co-op mode, faced with a multitude of lethal hazards in this post-apocalyptic world. But you’re not alone. Skynet’s machines will hound you relentlessly and rival human factions will fight for the same resources you desperately need.
Defy the machines and build the resistance in Terminator: Survivors will be released on early access for PC (Steam) on 24 October 2024 and coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S at a later date.
Outside of giving us a true horror title when we need to survive just one Terminator in the game, this has to be the other style that feels right for the IP. To get to live as those who did not get incinerated during Judgment Day or were born into the terror this new world offers up. I do hope that any of the time travel stuff only comes up near the end so we can see how our group of survivors helped to make that all possible down the line. A great way to tie it into the bigger story but I can also be happy if Terminator: Survivors just leaves us as a group of survivors that are not even connected to any of that, outside of not dying when Skynet came after humanity.
