Kingdom Hearts III Is Bringing Some Game & Watch Mini-Games With It

Kingdom Hearts III

A few new mini-games for Kingdom Hearts III have been shown off at a the recent Kingdom Hearts Union χ[Cross] Dandelion Meeting

While it may not be the biggest news for Kingdom Hearts III, it looks like we have a look at some of the new mini-games that will be making the hop into the game here when it releases sometime this year on the PS4 and Xbox One. It is a small thing, indeed, but seeing Square Enix just kind of dropped this update as a surprise, we will take it. That all said, it looks like Kingdom Hearts III will be home to a few Game & Watch-style mini-games that Sora and crew can enjoy on their mobile devices in-game. That is at least as it all looks here from the latest trailer for the game. It looks like we are going into the Way-Way-Way-Back machine for all of this now.

For those who were not born in the 1980s, these style of games were all the rage and the only way to play mobile games on a small LCD screen. Look it up and then get ready to see it in action for Kingdom Hearts III. These mini-games will be linked to classic Mickey Mouse cartoons, including “The Karnival Kid,” “Musical Farmer,” “Giantland,” and “The Barnyard Battle.” At least as we can all see so far and there may be more in Kingdom Hearts III, but that is what we know at this point. Like I said, though, there is still no word on how these will be linked into the core game. I am going to guess that it will be much like the similar mobile titles we saw in Final Fantasy XV and just there for fun.

Have a look at the latest trailer showing all of this off for Kingdom Hearts III just below. Then look for more of the 80s nostalgia to tug at you to think it is something that you wanted. That is unless these are not a fun little way to tie in more of the Disney properties into the full game. I guess we will know more soon. At least I hope so.
