L.A. Noire Will Have Us Be A Good Cop, Bad Cop, Or Just Accuse Now

L.A. Noire

It looks like L.A. Noire will be adding in more than just some fun new functionality as some UI tweaks will make L.A. Noire’s dialog better fit the narrative

The remastered version of L.A. Noire is finally landing on the PS4, Xbox One, and Switch next week, November 14th and we all know there are going to be some great changes for it all. Rockstar Games has already shown us how the visuals of the game will be greatly enhanced, but there has also been wind out there that it will be getting a lot of fun other features for the new hardware it is coming to. Namely the PS4 and Switch given that the controller schemes do offer up some other options, but it looks like there could be a lot more for L.A. Noire that will be getting reworked to enhance the game experience just a bit more.

Below you can see the latest trailer for L.A. Noire on the Switch and it not only shows some of the new touch screen controls for this version, but it also looks like the UI has been given a change to make the story flow a bit more fluidly and make a bit more sense. That is, the old options for Truth/Doubt/Lie have now been updated to Good Cop/Bad Cop/Accuse. All in an effort to make the story and scenes make a bit more sense in L.A. Noire as Doubt usually lead to some weird scenes to play out. The scenes are stated to still play out the same, but it just makes it feel like it makes more sense for it all when Phelps looks to turn into a “crazy person” based on the selection.

L.A. Noire — Nintendo Switch Trailer

Amid the post-war boom of Hollywood’s Golden Age, newly-minted officer Cole Phelps embarks on a desperate search for truth in a city where everyone has something to hide.

Investigate crimes from the darker side of 1940’s Hollywood at home or on the move with L.A. Noire for the Nintendo Switch — featuring contextual touch screen controls for portable detective work, a Joy-Con mode with gyroscopic controls, HD rumble and new wide and over-the-shoulder camera angles.

This seems like such a minor change for L.A. Noire but it could lead to some extra enhancement when it comes to playing and everything. If nothing else, it will at least make everything fall in line with what we would expect to happen in the scenes and that is at least something. Who knows though as Rockstar Games could have changed things a bit more than we thought and this is more than just a cosmetic change, but I am sure it is just that. It is just interesting to see that something like this could make L.A. Noire feel a bit different than it was originally set up to do. I guess we will know for certain when November 14th rolls around and we all get a chance to play it.

What are your thoughts on this change to L.A. Noire and do you think it will have the desired effect? Did it confuse you before when Phelps would act like a “bad cop” before when he was just trying to cast “doubt?” Will all of these touchscreen and other enhancements make the game that extra level of nice or will the visuals and ability to play on current gen systems do that for us? Let us have all of those thoughts down in the comments and then discuss. For more on L.A. Noire‘s new edition, make sure to keep following along here. We will have it all for you and we want to make sure we are all ready for the game.
