Let’s Bear Witness To The Big Announcement Reveal For 1666: Amsterdam

1666: Amsterdam

Witches are taking over Amsterdam, with the recent reveal we have for 1666: Amsterdam to tell a very dark tale

Things are getting a little more witchy out there, with the big reveal we had for 1666: Amsterdam. The next big title on the way to the PC from Panache Digital Games. A studio that has been known to bring some outside-the-box thinking when it comes to their projects so far, and this one looks to be doing the same thing. Even if it does look like a fantasy game set in Amsterdam, and all about the trials that women had to go through back in that era. That’s just looking at it all on the surface, though, as there’s a lot more going on than the basic title and teases we’ve had shown outright. Let’s dig into the reveal and some of the other behind-the-scenes aspects to see if this one is going to be the next game to get hyped about.

As you will gladly see here for 1666: Amsterdam, it is a new action title on the way that will have us playing as various characters over three different periods in time. The main one uses the year 1666, then there’s one in 1999, and another that will take place in whatever will be considered the present day when the game releases. All of that is great, but that leaves the bigger question of “Why?” Well, it looks like we will be playing as Noa, who was born into the life of being a Collector. A person set out to reclaim the power, wealth, and other privileges handed out to the people of Amsterdam from something called the Originals. Not just Noa, but Aaron, who is living life through the eyes of a cat. You know, all of the witchy things out there. All while the game dives into some of the true darkness of the time and era in the mix. You can see the game in motion and just where the team is going with all of that, in the following videos that have come out for the game up to now.

1666: Amsterdam — Reveal

Amsterdam, 1666.

A city built on wealth, power, and sheer will, yet shaped by forces it did not forge.

Entities known as the Originals have lived among its people for centuries, granted time, granted power, and the freedom to abuse both. That power is now owed.

Noa Brooklyn was born the Collector, raised by the Zaindaris for a purpose she did not choose.

Aaron, drawn from 1999, now sees the world through the eyes of a cat.

This is where the cycle begins.

Before the first Esbat. Before the Collector realizes what awaits her.

The Prologue of 1666: Amsterdam offers a first glimpse into a world shaped by centuries of hidden influence. Step into Noa’s Commencement as she takes on the mantle of the Collector, and begins to understand the role she was born to fulfill.

A choice must be made. A companion will walk beside her.

This is only the beginning.

Key Features:

  • Three Timelines, One Mystery: Glimpse a story unfolding across 1666, 1999, and the present day, each era revealing fragments of a larger truth.
