Life Is Strange: Double Exposure Brings Max Back For A New Mystery To Solve

Life Is Strange: Double Exposure

A new chapter for Life Is Strange is on the way with the announcement of Life Is Strange: Double Exposure to bring Max back

Our resident photographer with superpowers is getting back into the action with the announcement for Life Is Strange: Double Exposure. The next chapter in the ongoing story that Deck Nine Games has been telling out there with a bit of a coming of age bit mixed in. Even if at this point in Life Is Strange our protagonist has come to that age and is needed to solve yet another mystery in the world. One that will be coming to the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on October 29th. A Switch version of the game is also on the way, but that version does not have a release date set as of yet. I am sure it will not be too far along after, though.

In this new chapter of Life Is Strange, we catch up with Max who is now at Caledon University and has made a new set of friends. One of them is murdered and Max tries to tap into those rewind powers from before to save them. Sadly, that does not work the way it was planned and now Max can see into a parallel timeline where the friend is still alive but still in the same level of danger. Now, Max must use the new power to try to save the friend in both timelines or give up and come to the conclusion it is not possible to solve the murder. All while still using the same gameplay structure that Life Is Strange made popular a while back. Have a look and see just what is coming for us in this new episodic title.

Life Is Strange: Double Exposure — Announcement

Square Enix announced Life Is Strange: Double Exposure, the next entry in the critically acclaimed narrative adventure franchise. Developed by Deck Nine Games, Life Is Strange: Double Exposure is an all-new supernatural murder mystery that will excite both new and returning players. Life Is Strange: Double Exposure will launch on Xbox Series X|S consoles, PlayStation 5, and PC on Oct. 29, 2024. The game is also coming to Nintendo Switch.

Max Caulfield, photographer-in-residence at the prestigious Caledon University, discovers her closest new friend Safi dead in the snow. Murdered. To save her, Max tries to Rewind time – a power she’s not used in years… Instead, Max opens the way to a parallel timeline where Safi is still alive and still in danger! Max realizes the killer will soon strike again – in both versions of reality. Only Max can Shift between the two parallel timelines to solve and prevent the same murder.

Speaking of gameplay, we also have a nice and long bit of that for Life Is Strange: Double Exposure to look at. Gameplay that does not truly highlight the new powers that Max has in the world, but dives further into the choices and actions we need to make in the game as we go along for the ride. That and we get to see the inciting murder incident that will pull us into the Life Is Strange universe one more time. There are a few little spoilers to it all, but mostly this is just a way to reintroduce us to the gameplay mechanic and the new characters we will be spending some time with. You have been informed thusly and can choose if you want to see the new gameplay in the mix or skip on down the road and just wait for the full launch to happen.
