Life Is Strange: Double Exposure Gives Us More Powers To Use With Max

Life Is Strange: Double Exposure

Things in the world of Life Is Strange has changed with the upcoming Life Is Strange: Double Exposure

If you were expecting to have the exact same powers for Max as we had before, you are going to be in for a fun shock when it comes to Life Is Strange: Double Exposure. It looks like we are getting something new for the character in the game and Deck Nine Games took to Gamescom this year to show all of that off. They are still going to be time-based as we had seen for Life Is Strange from before, but here is an update so when October 29th rolls on up, we are not surprised when playing on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Those Switch gamers will have a little more time to get used to all of this, though.

For this new story in the Life Is Strange universe, Max will no longer have the ability to rewind time. Either there is a bigger explanation in the game or the powers have just evolved into two new ones called Pulse and Shift. Effectively, Pulse will allow Max to look into another timeline and gather some intel while Shift will allow Max to physically cross over into that other timeline. Something that seems like it will get just as confusing as all of the other time shenanigans in the Life Is Strange line, so we are going to want to take note of the UI options that will help indicate all of that. Unless you are a fan of asking questions in a different timeline that will get some weird answers. Here is a look at these powers for those who are still fully locked in for this story.

Life Is Strange: Double Exposure — Powers Unveiled

In this new video, learn more about Max’s investigative power to Pulse and Shift between one timeline — where Max’s friend Safi has been murdered — and another timeline where Safi is still alive.

With the killer still at large, the safety of everyone at Caledon University, including Max, is threatened!

Everyone is hiding something, and in Life Is Strange: Double Exposure, Max has the perfect power to solve this mystery as she probes her way through these two increasingly divergent timelines, with the determination to reach the truth at all costs!

The fate of her friends, and of two timelines, are at your fingertips.

Available on Xbox Series X|S games and entertainment systems, PC Windows Store, PC Steam, and PlayStation 5 on October 29, 2024, and also coming to Nintendo Switch, further details to be announced.

I am a fan of all of this and glad to see that things are evolving in Life Is Strange as well as for the characters between stories. Sure, it may not be the most groundbreaking change to powers, but I do hope it is an explanation of Max honing in better on them instead of something else happening to shift things around. I also hope that we can get a bunch of truly weird answers and changes to come up in the story by being in the wrong timeline and pressing forward. I know that Life Is Strange: Double Exposure has to have a linear story for us to go down, but it would be interesting to see how far Max can muddle things before getting fully called out on it all. I have odd tastes, I know.

Where do you stand for these new powers coming in this chapter of the Life Is Strange saga? Will this just be the next progression of it all or will Max have had something happen that would change things this much? Will it be possible to get fully lost in the other timeline and maybe branch even more off than we thought? Head on down to the comments to let us know which line you are on at this point. There should be a lot more for Life Is Strange: Double Exposure, so please keep on checking back for all of those updates and the many others we still have in the works for you. I am sure you will be entertained by all of them.
