Mad Max Is Still Coming But Only For The Next Gen Systems

Mad Max

Warner Bros. and Avalanche Studios have confirmed that Mad Max is still coming for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC this September

For all of you out there hoping for anything new for Mad Max from Warner Bros. and Avalanche Studios we have some good new and we have some bad news. Since it is how we roll here on the site we’ll start with the bad news. It looks like Mad Max will no longer be releasing on the PS3 and Xbox 360 systems. There is no word as to why but seeing as Game Informer is getting an exclusive month of looks at Mad Max I am sure we will find out why Avalanche Studios has dropped those systems from the list and focused on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC versions of the game.

Now the good news. Mad Max will be releasing on September 1st in the NA region and September 4th in EU. We went so long without a single word on Mad Max and now we have a solid release date for the game. It does miss the release date of the new film by a few months but luckily for all of us this is not a tie-in game so we can let that go. Although given the state of the film industry Mad Max will most likely be using the synergy of a DVD release to help bolster sales. At least if the film does well.

Also another bit of goodish news. We have pre-order bonuses for Mad Max to share as well. Anyone who wants to drop a bit of coin to secure your place in the desert waste land can also get the exclusive “Ripper” skin for the Magnum Opus. (Damn I used that term twice today now) That would be the car that the titular Max will be driving and this skin offers a V8 engine, upgraded exhaust, custom off-road tires, a ramming grill, and a specially tuned suspension to make things easier while driving in the Wasteland of Mad Max.

Mad Max — Game Informer Coverage Trailer

I know I was impressed back when I saw Mad Max at E3 in 2013. I am hopeful and optimistic that Avalanche Studios has been able to take the game even further than where I saw it back then. This is another good sign that even if Warner Bros. wants to force a film tie-in somehow that they have had the time to make sure Mad Max won’t be just a pile of crap to make money. Almost a three development cycle if my count is about right. What do you think though? Are you still excited for Mad Max to release in September? Did you forget it was even coming? Let us all know down in the comments.
