Marvel 1943: Rise Of Hydra Drops A Bit Of The Story Into A New Era For Us To Play

Marvel 1943: Rise Of Hydra

The story of Marvel 1943: Rise Of Hydra is out there so we have more than just a title card for Marvel 1943 to speculate over

Here we go with the Black Panther and Captain America video game getting a big update for us all to experience as Marvel 1943: Rise Of Hydra was shown off at GDC 2024. More than we have a bigger story and get to see just how Skydance is bringing this title to light and how Marvel Games will further expand their roster with, hopefully, a great story. That is what we have to dive into for Marvel 1943 as of now, along with a look at the character designs with masks on and off. So, without further gilding the lily, let us all dive in and see what the game is going to be able beyond placing the characters in the WWII setting one more time.

In Marvel 1943: Rise Of Hydra, we are being brought back to that terrible time of World War II but in Paris instead of the usual Germany where Captain America titles took place. Here we get to see him punching Nazis and helping to save the day while Azzuri, the Black Panther of the time, is out there on his own mission too. As things go in this aspect, communication has broken down and the two cross paths while setting out for their own goals. Now they need to put those issues aside and team up with a few non-superheroes out there to bring the war to an end and try to stomp Hydra into the ground in 1943. Or, at least, put up a good fight to slow them down.

Marvel 1943: Rise Of Hydra — Story

In the chaos of war, worlds collide. Skydance New Media and Marvel Games share an original story where an ensemble of four heroes must overcome their differences and form an uneasy alliance to confront their common enemy.

Captain America and Azzuri, the Black Panther of the 1940s, must overcome their differences and form an uneasy alliance to confront their common enemy. Fighting alongside Gabriel Jones of the Howling Commandos, and Nanali, a Wakandan spy embedded in Occupied Paris, they must join forces to stop a sinister plot that threatens to turn the havoc of WWII into the ultimate rise of Hydra.

While not the most original story, on the surface, I am interested to see how Marvel 1943: Rise Of Hydra does push forward and how the gameplay actually will flow. It looks like they have the animation and style down, but it is hard to say if any of the above was not just a pre-rendered cinematic for the show or if we had some gameplay mixed in. The characters are nice and I am glad they tried to move away from the looks we have had with the MCU so the likeness actors here do not have to live up to a legacy. We will all just have to see if placing it back in 1943 is going to pay off or if it will be the Captain America 2 story all over again just in a different time.

Are you excited to go back to 1943 with these characters and see how this story could play out? Will the gameplay be as smooth as we see in the trailer or will this be all part of the cinematics and the rest a bit different? Do you see a different story than we have already been told or does it feel like one we have seen in the comics and films, just in a different time period? Let us know your thoughts and then feel free to discuss it all as you wish to do down in the comments. There will be more for Marvel 1943: Rise Of Hydra on the site, so please keep on coming back to see and hear all of that as we get it out there.
