Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy

Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy was revealed and we will get to take all of the Guardians out to play this year

Without a doubt, Square Enix came out swinging with a big title during E3 this year by dropping the announcement for Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy on us all right from the start of their presentation. It was one of the rumored titles that could have been in their working portfolio and now we know that Eidos-Montréal will be delivering all of that soon. Soon as in terms of Guardians Of The Galaxy will be hitting the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC on October 26th as of right now. Like I said, they came out strong to not only announce the game but also get us set up with that release date right away. That and also a nice and long look at the gameplay for us to dig into right now.

To start things off, and to the chagrin of those looking to play as all of the Guardians, we will be playing as Star-Lord only in this title with all of the other characters being controlled in a few different ways. They will always be around and able to help with some basic Ai from the looks of it, but just as we have seen in the recent Final Fantasy, we will be able to give commands to everyone to jump in and help, synergize attacks, or just handle a situation out there. Given that Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy is an action RPG of sorts, it looks like it could be a nice and easy way to handle all of this, even if some would rather be able to choose which character they want to play as instead. Given the pedigree of the studio, I am sure there is a good choice to go down this path instead and we will just have to have faith.

Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy — Reveal Trailer

Fire up Star-Lord’s jet boots for a wild ride across the cosmos in this third-person action-adventure game, a fresh take on Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy. With the unpredictable Guardians at your side, blast your way from one explosive situation to another, with original and iconic Marvel characters caught in a struggle for the fate of the universe. You got this. Probably.

You can see some of that action for our Guardians just below and see how the fighting will flow, but there does look like there will be some other extras to help with the storytelling and to keep the game feeling more dynamic for various plays. As the “leader” of the team, we will have to make story and dialog choices along the way that will alter perceptions and interactions for the characters along the way. It has been stated that the main story will always flow to the same conclusion, but these choices might alter how the game actually plays or if the allies will actually help you in the fight. Even if some of the choices are only given two poor options instead of things that could work better. There is no word on how this will greatly impact the Guardians Of The Galaxy, but given how important it is to the mechanics, I am sure it will. Have a look at all of that gameplay and see just how it could.

Are you upset that you will only be able to play as Star-Lord here or do you think it will make for a better game and that the team made the right choice? Do you think that we will actually see some of the team turn on us if we always make the bad choices for them or will it only change the dialog along the way to the ending we all expect to see? Give us all of those thoughts and feelings down in the comments and feel free to discuss it all. As more for Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy gets out there, we will share it with you on the site.
