Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
We get to meet Kraven in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 as he sets out to hunt down Spider-Man and many others in new gameplay
Here we go with some massive announcements and showing out of the recent PlayStation showcase and we get to start off with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The one that so many have been looking forward to since Insomniac Games not only announced it but then showed off a little of what was to come. That being the introduction of Venom and many other iconic villains from the Spider-Man list. All of them with their own twist from the comics into the game. It has been great so far, and I am waiting on Carnage, but for now, we have a look at Kraven and a few others as we wait for this Fall to drop the game on the PS5. Still such a long wait for this.
To kick things off before we get into the gameplay, we have a look at Kraven and how he is brought into the world of Spider-Man here. For those that somehow do not know the character, he is known as one of the best game hunters in the world and is always looking to up his game and hunt. This is shown off greeting in his in-game cinematic we have to share just below. He is a little more ruthless than he has traditionally been in the comics, but since his role in the Spider-Man comics has taken a darker turn in general, this feels so perfectly fitting. Especially since he is taking his sights and placing them on our hero and the various others that are roaming around the urban jungle.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 — Introducing: Kraven The Hunter
Kraven the Hunter makes his debut in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and he’s in search of an equal. That spells “bad news” for the inhabitants of Marvel’s New York.
Launching Fall 2023, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is the next game in PlayStation’s critically acclaimed Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise. Developed by Insomniac Games in collaboration with Marvel Games and PlayStation for the PlayStation 5 console.
Now that we have that out of the way for the who, here we go and dive into the gameplay for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Something that kicks off a bit later in the game with Peter having the Venom symbiote already attached and Miles having so many other amazing features in the mix. Features like having the Web Glide, dual enemy takedowns, and the ability to create his own catwalks to stalk above enemies in the stealth mode. This has been something I have been waiting for since the first Spider-Man game and am so glad to see it here. Not to mention all of the extra crazy cinematic elements that help with this epic story and keep the flow going as we swap between the two characters in the game.
Miles is not the only focus here, though, and we do have a bit of gameplay with the traditional Spider-Man. Even if he is in the early stages of the symbiote bond. It seems this way since Pete is still not fully given into the darker side of things, but we do get to see some amazing attacks and moves that only can be done with the symbiote. I had a feeling this was only going to be something we saw Venom do and it looks like we will have a new HUD for this part of the game, so I am further excited to see how this all goes. My only worry now is that we are going to get the villain swap to Venom at the end of the game and not get to see how that story could fully play out if we did not have the other distractions.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 — Gameplay Reveal
Kraven’s Hunters are in pursuit of Dr. Curt Connors, AKA The Lizard, and Spider-Men, Peter Parker and Miles Morales, need to stop them.
What do you think about Kraven here and will he be more than just another faction of enemies for Spider-Man to tackle? Will we get to see the long list of other targets in the mix or will Kraven be the reason we do not have to fight some of the same villains again? Do you think Venom will be a mid-game twist or will it be similar to Otto Octavious in the prior title? Take to the comment section and discuss everything you have just now seen here. There is going to be a lot more for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 up to the Fall, so keep checking back in here for all of those updates and everything else we can offer up along the way.
