Hellblade
A new Environment Art Style Test for Hellblade has been released to show off what some of the levels and areas in Hellblade may end up looking like
Last week people were worried that Hellblade was canceled or being completely re-tooled. This week we have another great look at how the production process that Hellblade is going through is coming along. In this instance it is via a nice, short video that Ninja Theory has put out there to show off how some of the game’s levels could end up looking when all is said and done. I believe they labeled it all as in-game concept art to let everyone know what Hellblade is currently looking like as the art team moves toward the final versions of all of the assets and lighting effects we will be experiencing when Hellblade hits the PS4.
As I do enjoy seeing the process behind building games like Hellblade some of you have stated you don’t. That would be a bit of a warning to those in the “don’t” category as this is one of those kinds of videos for Hellblade here. It does show some new looks at how the game will play, at least in the movement category, but not too much. This is just a showing of what the art team over at Ninja Theory want to have close to in the final build of Hellblade so take that salt there before going into any kind of rant. This is, like what caused the issues last week, just test samples that could end up being tossed aside for Hellblade at the end of the day. Hopefully not though as it is looking sharp.
You’ve been warned but for the rest of you out there here is the art test footage for Hellblade to look at with amazement. Gods I love the engine that they are using to build Hellblade here. Never a letdown when in the hands of professionals.
Hellblade — Pre-Production Environment Art Style Test
What do you think about this art test for Hellblade? Does it look like Ninja Theory has some working models and lighting for you or do you think they need to scrap and move onto something different for these levels? Does Hellblade look like it is going to have some stand-out fantasy world look to it or is it looking generic to you? Let us know and discuss away in the comments below. As they have a pretty open development cycle for Hellblade I am sure we will have more here in short order so be sure to keep checking in for more on the game and how Hellblade will evolve through the ever changing process of game development.
