Mortal Kombat 1 Has Us Embrace The Chaos With New Characters

Mortal Kombat 1

Three more fighters are here for Mortal Kombat 1 and we get one more Mortal Kombat deep cut for another Kameo fighter

The fighters are coming out in droves for Mortal Kombat 1 with three more banished into the realm and one more showing up as the next hot Kameo spot. Most of them also some deep dives into the games from NetherRealm Studios that some fans might see these as new characters if they do not have their lore all the way up to date. There have been a massive amount of characters in the run for Mortal Kombat, so that makes sense. Now, though, we get to see as Reptile is back, along with Ashrah, Havik, and Sareena. The last one being a Kameo character so far, but we will know more once the game hits the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC on September 19th.

Along with these fighters, there are definitely some changes coming to them from the past Mortal Kombat titles they were in. Not only in their look but things like Reptile is more of a Werelizard than just another ninja that is green or was a full lizard-man in a green suit. Here, it looks as if he will be shifting between forms as needed while also calling upon the attacks he used in the past Mortal Kombat titles. Things like the acid bubble and invisibility. A solid choice for the team to go with, as it does offer up some amazing extra uses of the X-ray and Fatalities if he can shift into a hulking lizard that can swallow enemies up in one or two bites.

Massive character aside, now, we get to see a few more of the Mortal Kombat: Deception characters back in the mix too. Asharah being a demon hunter that leans a bit into the angelic look of things now. Havik being another ninja-type of character that looks to deal in some blood and chaos attacks. Then we have Sareena, in full demon form, that will be using all of their talents to use as needed. Even if it does feel odd to see that the demon hunter and demon can team up in the game. Maybe there will be a good reason for this in Mortal Kombat 1 beyond them all being banished from their realms and being just the same refugees out there. Gods, I hope so…

Mortal Kombat 1 — Banished

When banished, one can seek redemption or embrace chaos.

Welcome Reptile, Ashrah, Havik, and Sareena into the new fight.

It’s In Our Blood. Discover a reborn Mortal Kombat Universe created by Fire God Liu Kang. Mortal Kombat 1 ushers in a new era of the iconic franchise with a new fighting system, game modes, and Fatalities!

While it is always nice to get some solid deep cuts from the Mortal Kombat universe in here, I know I am holding out hope for a brand-new character that we have never seen before in the mix. Some could argue that with some of these others being side-characters or background characters before, this is just that, but I am looking at Mortal Kombat 11 where the story brought some new in while also making them fighters. Maybe this is something that the team is trying to keep hidden for a solid surprise or something. We only have a little over a month to wait and find out, so that is at least one small bonus to it all.

Are you excited to see more of these Mortal Kombat characters showing back up or are some of them too deep of cuts for your tastes? How do you feel about the massive, pun intended, change for Reptile here and will it flow just as well in the game? What other deep-cut character are you hoping to see show up in the game or would you rather see a fully new character in the mix instead? Fight your way down to the comment section and then feel free to discuss all of this and everything else we have there. We will keep sharing all that we can for Mortal Kombat 1, so please keep on checking back in for all of that and everything else we can find out there for you.
