Mutant Year Zero: Road To Eden Is Adding In Some New Stalker Trials

Mutant Year Zero: Road To Eden

A new update for Mutant Year Zero: Road To Eden will be bringing a new challenge mode to keep us all engrossed in Mutant Year Zero just a bit longer

Just when you thought you may have explored all of Mutant Year Zero: Road To Eden and could safely move on, we have a new update coming that will be bringing more than minor fixes for the game. In fact, it looks like The Bearded Ladies are still keeping the game running smoothly by offering up smaller patches but this time will bring a whole new mode to the game. A new mode called Stalker Trials will be coming to Mutant Year Zero with the next big update on February 26th. All for the low price of free. At least if you own the core game already. If not, it would be the price of admission. Still, you cannot truly knock that.

What Stalker Trials will be adding into Mutant Year Zero will be a repopulated world map where we will have access to all of the Stalkers in the game and all of their mutations. We will then load them out with gear we have to buy and upgrade and send them back into “The Zone.” From here, we will be scored by the character Pripp on how well we handle the challenges set forth in Mutant Year Zero and the enemies we will need to take down. All for a nice little score that will be shared with the rest of the world through leaderboards. Awesome.

The cool thing here is that the top player each week will then have an NPC named after them placed into the world of Mutant Year Zero for other players to take down. Kind of a cool little thing to have added in there but I have a feeling we will see the same names pop up quite often based on the learning curve of the game in general. Mutant Year Zero is a fun game but it is truly hard to master. Even after two months of trying I still do not feel like I have it perfected as well as I could.

Stalker Trials Coming To PC February 26

Greetings mutants and stalkers!

Today we are incredibly excited to announce that Mutant Year Zero: Road To Eden is expanding with the addition of Stalker Trials, a challenge mode that will truly put your skills to the test. We’re re-populating the game’s maps with different types of enemies to create new challenges for you and your chosen team of stalkers.

We’ll be rolling out the Stalker Trials on PC in a free update next week, on February 26th, so mark your calendars and get ready to gear up! This update is planned for console release at a later date.

Sneak And Fight To Impress Pripp

The Stalker Trials give you access to all characters, with all mutations and skills unlocked, but you will have to buy and upgrade your weapons and armor before heading out. Once you’re satisfied with your loadout you can journey into the Zone and link up with Pripp, the bartender. He’s the brains behind the Stalker Trials and will score you on your progress as you fight your way through an area. Your rewards will be new items and equipment that you can either use on a new map, or set at Iridia’s shop.

Your progress will be noted down on the in-game leaderboards and the weekly and all-time top Stalker will have an NPC named after them for other players to take down. Pripp will also reward you with extra points if you clear a map in certain ways, for example by not taking damage or not using explosives.

Are you glad to see this update coming to Mutant Year Zero or is it something that should have been in there since day one? Do you think that we will only see the same few players on top all the time or will the difficulty keep it rotating fairly well? Could we see even more updates to the game like this in the future or will this be the last of the major ones that we get for a while? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss. If there is more to share for Mutant Year Zero: Road To Eden in general, we will share it all here. Just be sure to keep checking back in for all of that as we press onward.
