A new mascots gone wild title is out here now with the full release for My Friendly Neighborhood on the PC. A new title that DreadXP has for us all that is a mix of Sesame Street and Five Nights At Freddy’s all in one place. We have had some demos and samples before, but now we can take on the role of a repairman that has been placed in one of the worst situations ever. All to make those waiting for My Friendly Neighborhood to hit the consoles out there down the line. that is a future us thing though, so we can just move into the launch of things that we have here now. Get ready to get weird out there…
Just as we always seem to get here, My Friendly Neighborhood has one more trailer to help show off what the game will have for us in the mix. A look at a few of the locations and various puppets we will be attacked by and need to shoot down in the mix. Some of them are a little more powerful and weaker than each other, but that is what the handy letter gun is for. Yeah, you read that. A gun that shoots letters and other various kid’s programming items even if My Friendly Neighborhood is a dark and horrifying setting to behold. That is what makes it all a little more unsettling out there. But you will have to wait for our full review here to get more of those details if you have not just opted to give the game a go without us.
My Friendly Neighborhood — Launch Trailer
It’s time to head to the neighborhood. They’ve been waiting for you.
Renowned indie horror publisher DreadXP burst with joy as it announced at the PC Gaming Show the release date for its puppet-filled survival horror game, My Friendly Neighborhood! This gosh darn spooky game releases on July 18, 2023, for Windows PC, but that’s not all; My Friendly Neighborhood will also release on PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One, and Series S|X at a later date.
My Friendly Neighborhood puts you into the work boots of Gordon, a repairman tasked with shutting down the sudden broadcast of a canceled children’s TV show titled The Friendly Neighborhood. Back in the day, the loveable show lit up TV screens and the smiling faces of children all across the world. Fans loved its colorful cast of kooky puppets that took them on educational adventures and delighted them with fun games. But the show’s popularity waned over time, and the studio had to ultimately shut its doors. Now the show’s characters are back on the air for an encore… wait, are they eating each other!?
Featuring a mix of action and adventure, My Friendly Neighborhood is the perfect game for horror fans looking for solid and surprising scares rather than gore. Sure, there might not be any dead bodies, dismemberment, or decapitations, but don’t expect your new puppet pals to stay down for good. They demand hugs — intense, painful hugs.
My Friendly Neighborhood Key Features:
- Friends Or Foe-zz?: Meet and greet a colorful cast of puppet friends turned adversaries (and maybe turned friends again!)
- Follow Directions: Non-linear, survival horror gameplay. Make sure to check your map!
- Toys & Stuff: Arm yourself with unique weapons like the Rolodexer. Do you know your ABCs? You better — it’s your ammo
- Brain Teasers: Solve an array of puzzles in the vein of the survival horror greats
- Lots Of Playspace: Experience a multitude of diverse environments, from the “BTS” Ray’s Workshop to Cardboard Crayon Halls
- Don’t Be Messy: Enjoy a grid-based real-time inventory, ‘cause that’s just way better
Are you going to play My Friendly Neighborhood now that it is out there or will you be waiting for the console release of it all? Do you like these children’s things getting the horror twist to it all or is that something that feels like it is going to run its course here soon? What other weird guns and weapons will we find along the way in the game and will they work just as well against these things as we hope? Take to the comment section to start discussing all of this. There will be much more for My Friendly Neighborhood on the site, but you will need to wait for it all. Please keep checking back for all of that and everything else we can share with you.
