Nemesis: Distress Is Revealed To Bring Another Board Game To Life

Nemesis: Distress

A video game version of the Nemesis board game is revealed with Nemesis: Distress bringing thew fun into a first-person version of it all

If you were hoping to see Awaken Realms’ board game Nemesis brought into a video game form, then you are in luck as it looks like Ovid Works is doing just that for us. Not in the traditional sense of just making a digital version of the board game for us to all enjoy, but in a full first-person multiplayer horror game. Here we go with the reveal for Nemesis: Distress that will keep much of the feel from the board game but make it easier for your opponents to keep things hidden if they so need to. Looking your friends in the face can be so telling in these kinds of games and this will eliminate some of that.

While it is not overly present in the reveal trailer we have for Nemesis: Distress, players will play a 40-minute scenario where they will have various tasks to perform while other players have the same and also have to deal with other things on the ship doing their objectives too. Some of these might be killing other players, taking enemy nests, or just getting the ship on course for Mares. They will be randomly selected at the start of it all in Nemesis: Distress, so it will keep the gameplay feeling fresh each time. That is the goal at the very least.

Nemesis: Distress — Reveal

Nemesis: Distress is a new first-person multiplayer horror game based on the popular board game Nemesis. Every player has their own unique agenda in the 40-minute, unique-every-time scenarios. Also don’t miss the crowdfunding campaign for Nemesis: Lockdown, now on Kickstarter.

Did you want to see a video game form of Nemesis out there or were you fine with the board game version before now? Do you think this will flow over well into a first-person title or would it have worked better in a different form? Do you think that it will always feel fresh or will there only be so many scenes that can be programmed in here? Let us all know what your thoughts are on all of this down below and then feel free to discuss. If there is more for Nemesis: Distress, we will add it here. Be sure to keep checking back in for all of that and much more on the site.
