New Gameplay For Hunt: Showdown Straight From The Closed Alpha

Hunt: Showdown

The closed alpha for Hunt: Showdown is on and now we are getting a whole lot more to see for Hunt: Showdown in its raw form

As of yesterday (1/31/18) the closed alpha test for Hunt: Showdown was in full swing. Random participants who signed up for a chance have started to be selected by Crytek to join in the fun and, of course, select content creators have also been given access. While the primary goal of this is to help shape Hunt: Showdown into the game that we all want, it is also to help promote the game and get more gamers excited to join in all of the fun. That makes it sound like the team has not already done a great job doing that, but that is not the case at all. At least for those keeping a close eye on this interesting new title coming to our PC, PS4, or Xbox One in the not too distant future.

All of that aside, now that the Alpha is in full swing, there are now multiple videos showing off the current state of Hunt: Showdown and where it has shifted since we last heard of anything. We too will be joining in the fun of all of this and bringing you our own videos soon, but for now, we have a solid look at how the game runs at some high-end 4K quality. Just a sample and a tease to hold you over until we join in the hunt here soon. Also a nice look at how the world is being rendered and some of the abilities the hunters have to take down the enemies. Have a look and then stay ready for our own videos real soon.

Hunt: Showdown — Closed Alpha

Starting on January 31st, a select group of PC gamers will be able to play Hunt: Showdown regularly as part of the game’s Closed Alpha testing phase, via Steam. During Closed Alpha, the Hunt team will be testing gameplay, balancing, and backend functionality, as well as collecting feedback from the community. Closed Alpha testers will be randomly chosen from the sign-up list, and those chosen will receive an email invite.

Hunt: Showdown is a competitive multiplayer bounty hunting game that mixes PvP with PvE elements in a handcrafted sandbox environment. During each match up to ten players, hunting solo or in teams of two, track and kill gruesome monsters for a bounty—when they aren’t tracking and killing each other in order to steal it. During Hunt‘s Closed Alpha phase new content—in the form of new weapons, equipment, traits, and ranks—will be continuously released and tested.

Invitations for the Hunt Closed Alpha will be sent out in multiple waves, and it is still possible to sign up at huntshowdown.com/signup.

Were you able to get in on the closed alpha test for Hunt: Showdown yet or are you still waiting for your lucky day? What do you think about how the game has changed since we first saw it so long ago and do you think it is going in the correct direction? Do you think players will use the built-in chat feature knowing it is using location-based audio or will they go outside the system to make it hard for others to find them? Let us know down in the comments and then discuss. For more on Hunt: Showdown and to see our own videos, be sure to keep checking back in here. We will have them all up soon as an update here and on our own channels.
