New Hitman Trailer Gives Us A Feel For How Grand Maps Will Be

Hitman

A new trailer for Hitman has been released and it shows off how large the maps of the first two missions of Hitman will be as well as diverse

Since Hitman is just about a week out from launch it looks like it is time to beat the dead horse again in terms of how large the maps are going to be in the game. This has been something that Io Interactive has been touting since the first time we heard they were making another addition into the franchise and it is back yet again. The real bonus here being that the Season Premiere trailer for Hitman does give us another look and the maps do look rather large based on all of that.

Below you can see a bit of the Prologue, Paris, and Sapienza locations coming to Hitman and there is no doubt that it looks like there is a lot going on with the maps. Not only the maps but how populated the maps are here is also truly impressive. That all said though I was kind of hoping to see how we are going to get to interact with said maps more than what we saw in the Hitman beta that concluded not too long ago. Or to that extent, the beta that is about to go live again for all of those PlayStation Plus members who want to try before they buy.

Hitman — Season Premiere

Plain and simple, based on my experience with the Hitman it doesn’t matter how large and dense the maps of the game are but if there isn’t much needed to be done in them people are going to fly through and then forget each “episode.” I know that the Prologue missions are nothing near the full maps we are told we are getting but if the missions in said maps can be completed in 3 minutes I am not seeing much use for the size promised. Hopefully the full missions make better use of the area Io Interactive has crafted and not just used to “sell” people by offering extra exploration in Hitman.

What say you though? Does the size truly matter in a game like Hitman or do you think a vast majority will go unexplored by your average player? Do you think this is a design choice to make it easier to craft smaller missions later on to keep players interested? Are you going to be checking out the beta again once it goes live? Let us know and discuss it in the comments. As with all things out of Square Enix we will keep bringing you more and more. Be sure to stay locked into the site so you don’t miss a single thing.
