New Modes & Visuals Are On The Way For The Maid Of Sker

Maid Of Sker

A next-gen update for Maid Of Sker is coming next week that will also turn Maid Of Sker into an action-shooter title

This seems to be the week that all of the games are getting a next-gen upgrade and now Maid Of Sker is joining the ranks of titles to hit the PS5 and Xbox Series X through a free update. All to bring the game to the 4K resolutions, the usual frame upgrades, faster loading times, and the controller feedback that is currently all the rage. Maybe some of this will lend to making Maid Of Sker a bit more of a terrifying title with the controllers giving us a bit more to experience while sneaking around out there. It would make for a better title for us depending on how well Wales Interactive has opted to go with all of this. Just as we should expect for a game that came out during the console shifts.

The weird thing here for Maid Of Sker is that we are getting another update for the game that will be flooding out to the platforms too. There will also be an FPS Challenge Mode dropped on us on May 26th with all of the visual upgrades too. Yes, they are turning Maid Of Sker from a horror and stealth simulation to an action FPS title when you go into this new mode. You can see a bit of it in the below video, but it will give us new scenarios and enemies to ow kill in the game instead of trying to bypass. These will make it feel like a vastly different game here now. It could be something that could bring more gamers into this here but feels like it is a complete deviation from the core of the game truly was before.

When it comes to these new FPS modes, it adds in four new scenarios to Maid Of Sker where we will have to cycle between four different weapons with most of the enemies, new and old, swarming us as we have to do things like escape the hotel, survive the waves, or kill everything with an axe. This does bring ten more Achievements/Trophies to Maid Of Sker, so there is that for those out there looking to hunt a bit more and have a reason to give this vast deviation a try. Maybe it will all work out, but at the same time, I kind of wish that these would have been part of the core game or a wholly different title to experience in the first place.

How do you feel about these new modes coming to Maid Of Sker and does it feel like it is an odd shift for the game this was before? Do you think that we could see the team work on a new horror shooter in the future and this is just a test of the waters to see if the fans are willing to give it a go? Will these new visuals have you back playing through it all one more time or will it be less intense knowing how it will all play out the second time? Give us all of those thoughts and feelings down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all as you wish. We will keep sharing what we can for Maid Of Sker and other titles getting the same updates. Please keep coming back to check on that and everything else out there.
