New Screenshots & Multiplayer News For DOOM Come Out Of QuakeCon

DOOM

News about the DOOM multiplayer beta and alpha have come out of QuakeCon 2015 as well as a few new looks at the gameplay for DOOM

It would make sense that out of QuakeCon we would get some new information for DOOM wouldn’t it? It is one of the larger showcasing of Bethesda‘s titles and we all know DOOM is going to try and make a huge splash when it finally launches on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Hells, DOOM helped do wonders to get the pre-orders for Wolfenstein: The New Order to spike among those who were not willing to take a chance. This was of course to the fact that id Software was offering beta access to the DOOM multiplayer with the pre-order and TNO turned out to be an amazing game. But I digress.

I know I have been one of those people wondering when said multiplayer beta for DOOM was going to take place since it was first announced. Thankfully we have a bit of an update out of QuakeCon, as expected, on all of that. Not to mention that there is going to be not only the beta but an alpha for the DOOM multiplayer as well. I think this is Bethesda‘s way of making up for all the lost time we had between said pre-order bonus and when we will actually be diving into Hell and killing everything as is the DOOM way. So that is two great chances to play the multiplayer a little earlier than expect for DOOM.

Sadly though it looks like the Alpha test is still a bit of a ways off as it has been stated that “in the coming months” people will gain access to the alpha for DOOM. Not everyone will be able to gain access either as it looks like id Software is going to be selecting people out of the Beta signups for DOOM and grant those people access to the multiplayer at random. Everyone who has the pre-order bonus of course will have access to the beta but there is no telling when that will actually take place as the alpha is still a few months out. Maybe it will follow shortly after but most likely not.

In the coming months, we’ll be selecting Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC players from the Wolfenstein: TNO Beta pool to participate in the DOOM Multiplayer Alpha. To make sure you’re eligible, make sure you redeem your DOOM Beta code at www.wolfenstein.com/doom. If you purchased the game digitally through Steam, PSN, or Xbox Live, you’re already set — you have a digital entitlement that will ready you for the Alpha when it starts.

So there is your update on the DOOM alpha and beta test for the multiplayer. Are you going to be in on it or did you completely forgotten about it due to the time elapsed? What modes, weapons, and class types do you think we are going to get? How about a “be the demon” mode? Let us know what you think down in the comments and discuss. Also as id Software and Bethesda are still kind of holding back we know that there will be an out pour of updates for DOOM here “in the coming months” so be sure to keep everything locked in here so you can be completely up to snuff when the DOOM multiplayer alpha and beta finally launch.
