Night Book Teases Us All With A Bit Of A Real World Mystery To Solve

Night Book

A new FMV game, Night Book, was teased during this year’s E3 with Night Book showing off what remote work can accomplish

Here we go with another one of the great FMV style video games getting teased and poised to hit us with Night Book. This would be one of the next titles that Wales Interactive and Good Gate Media will be bringing to us on all of the platforms out there when it does hit. It also happened to be a small thing to slip out there during E3 this year that might have gone unnoticed for a bit. We spotted it, and given how the same style of games we have seen from them before Night Book have been our jam, it is time to take a look at this one. Even if there is only so much to go on at this point and more clouded in secrecy to hold up the story and let the developers keep working on it all remotely. Something that is a bit of a selling point here, as everything was filmed that way and no need for a centralized studio building yet.

In Night Book, we will be following an occult story from the perspective of a pregnant woman that has accidentally summoned a demon into her life. Loralyn then seeks help and answers from various other out there via video chants and other forms of online communications. It sounds like this demon may be looking for a soul to take and through the various paths of dialog we can go down, someone will be offered up to save her and her baby. I have a feeling that Night Book could also take us down a path where we offer up said baby or allow the demon to take possession of, but that is just speculation based on how these stories usually go. Have a look at the teaser for it all and see if you think it will hold up as their other titles have in this specific form of storytelling.

Night Book — Teaser Trailer

Enter the world of the occult, in this psychological thriller starring Loralyn, a pregnant woman who finds herself in danger after accidentally summoning a demon into her home. After being tricked into reading an ancient text unleashing an untold evil, Loralyn must ask herself; who is she prepared to sacrifice to survive?

Completely live-action and shot remotely during the lockdown, the full game will feature branching narrative paths and multiple endings.

What are your thoughts on Night Book from what we have here so far and do you think it will fit into the other titles out there? Is this a form of video game you are excited to see still happening or was it something that was needed decades ago only? Is it impressive to see that all of the actors did their parts remotely during lockdowns or do you suspect that will be a norm moving forward here? Let us and the world out there know what you are thinking down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all. If we have more for Night Book, know that we will add it to the site for you. All you have to do is keep checking back in for all of that and everything else that is still flowing out of the events of last week.
