Oddworld: Soulstorm Is Venturing Forward With Some New Gameplay

Oddworld: Soulstorm

Oddworld: Soulstorm is out here again with new gameplay and a showing of how this Oddworld title is coming to the PS5

It looks like Oddworld: Soulstorm is now hitting up the PS5 on top of the PS4 and PC when it finally launches for us. This might give us a better idea of when this is going to happen but Oddworld Inhabitants have been holding off on all of that for now and just offering up the platforms. Oh, and also a new look at Oddworld: Soulstorm and just about what it is going to bring us in terms of gameplay. That also means that we have some new gameplay to look at here and start down the path of saving an entire race of beings from becoming food. You know, that old trope we have seen for a while now.

I jest, of course, but that does not mean that we do not have new gameplay to look at for Oddworld: Soulstorm to show off how amazing it is going to look and how we will need to navigate the horrible security of the facilities. It looks as if there will be more to the side-scrolling escapades we have seen in the past titles with a whole lot more to risk for our friends. It also looks as if things are going to be advancing for Abe here over the past Oddworld titles and that has me even more excited to see where this all goes. Now if only there was a demo we could have to experience it all instead of just watching.

Oddworld: Soulstorm — PlayStation 5 Reveal

Oddworld Inhabitants announced that Oddworld: Soulstorm is coming to both the PlayStation 5 (PS5) System and the PlayStation 4 (PS4) System.

Oddworld: Soulstorm is the second game in Abe’s heroic epic. Taking up where New ‘N’ Tasty ended, Abe has undergone a transformation from being a clueless Mudokon cog, literally about to be chewed up by the Glukkons’ mega-corporate machines, into an unlikely hero that rises to become a beacon of hope.

Revolutions start small but can gain traction quickly and Abe’s actions have not gone unnoticed. The well-funded and powerful opposition is increasingly rising against him albeit in devious and disinforming ways. In Soulstorm, Abe will uncover a terrifying machination, one that threatens to annihilate any hope of his people’s potential freedom. If Abe fails to conquer this challenge his people will never have a chance to be free.

Soulstorm retains the core gameplay that fans have loved, while expanding with smart new features such as Scavenger’s Economy System and Crafting in a way that is relevant to Abe as a character. The game will feature leaderboards, trophies, and badges to extend the game’s possibilities and challenges. The game will be 10+ hours, but achievement hunters and leaderboard climbers will spend dozens more hours enjoying the game.

Oddworld: Soulstorm will be exclusive on PS5 and PS4 for consoles and Epic Games Store for PC.

Are you glad to see that we are getting Oddworld: Soulstorm on the PS5 or was that about expected at this point given the current launch status? Do you think that this form of gameplay will live on as we march forward or will it get too bogged down for newer gamers? Were you expecting the game to be longer than ten hours or will that feel about right with the replay value there could be? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all. If there is more to share for Oddworld: Soulstorm, we will definitely share it all here. Just be sure to keep checking back in for all of that and more.
