Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous Is Changing Things Up For The Visuals

Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous

New changes are coming to Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous to further the game beyond Pathfinder: Kingmaker had before for us

It should not be that big of a surprise to hear that Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous is aiming to build upon the best part of the previous title that Owlcat Games put out there before. It is how we can keep things in the industry flowing and make sure that we are not just getting the same games over and over. That and a way to let some of the teams out there shine a bit more with the technology that is being used for it all. That is the case here again in Pathfinder when it comes to the visuals and graphics of the game based on the latest developer diary that is out there for us to look at and understand what is up for the game. Something that is interesting given that the game has never been something that was poised to be the next biggest and best version of it all.

As the following video will show better, this Pathfinder title is still using a similar style to show off all of the characters and the world with the “hand-painted” and less cartoonish style to it all. They are mixing in some new lighting elements, color pallets, and other techniques to help it all feel a bit more dynamic and give us more to explore and look at in the mix. Something that is totally going to need to be used here for Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous with the new dismemberment animations and features in the game and the fully rebuilt weather system to it all. All of which does add quite a bit to the game and is impressive to see as it further expands from the early version we had to look at not too long ago.

— We’ve Remade And Upgraded The Graphics

In the brand new Dev Diary 4, Owlcat Games talk about graphics and art style in Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous.

Art department shares that Pathfinder: Kingmaker was a foundation to build upon, but the new game has a much darker story than the first. The team took a step away from the cozy, cartoony style of Kingmaker towards the more reserved, desaturated colors and less exaggerated geometry.

Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous also features a number of significant visual upgrades, such as new technology for handling textures, better-quality and more customizable character models, coverage of surfaces by snow and sand, dynamic lighting, a complete overhaul of the weather system, and more.

Are you excited to see how Pathfinder will keep evolving here or do you see an endpoint not far down and we will just see the campaigns rolling out from there? Do you think that we will slowly move into some full 3D space for everything or will it stick to what it has been doing well thus far? Do you like seeing all the extra gore we will get to play with in the game here and will it find its way into future installments too? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all if you so wish to do so. We will keep all that we have for Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous coming at you as best we can. Just be sure to keep checking back for all of that and everything else that we might have along the way.
