The first real look at the PlayStation 5’s DualSense is here so we can get a better understanding how we will control the worlds within the PlayStation 5
We are all still in a holding pattern about what the new PlayStation 5 will cost and when we will be able to pick it up, but at least we are back with an update on how we will control the thing. Yes, this one is going to be all about the DualSense and what has changed from the DualShock to now. Obviously, as we are looking at the PlayStation 5 being the next generation of gaming there will be some changes and upgrades. Most of which we already knew from the first announcement. Now get to see some of those in motion. Even if it is hard to tell since it is in the hands of Geoff Keighley and not our own for now.
The first thing to notice here, much like the core PlayStation 5, the DualSense is going to be a bigger controller in just size and weight. Something I am not overly thrilled about as this is why I tend to play more on the PlayStation side over the Xbox when it comes to consoles. I am not a fan of bulk and it sounds like that is changing here. The microphone and speakers on the DualSense do seem to be a bit more involved than before and it will be interesting to see how the PlayStation 5 titles out there utilize all of that. Sadly, it is hard to get excited for the haptic feedback and other basics as seeing someone else pull a trigger and tilt a controller does not give us a great sense of things. Either way, have a look at the basics just below and wait for Sony to finally tell us when pre-orders will fire up.
PlayStation 5 — DualSense Controller Hands-On
Today at Noon ET / 9 am PT, join Geoff Keighley for a first look (and play) of the DualSense Controller for PlayStation 5 (PS5).
Did you suspect that the PlayStation 5 controller was going to be larger or were you hoping for it to stay the same size but with a new design? Do you think we will see more use of the microphone and speakers in future titles or will they just be a gimmick for now? How do you think they will get the feel of sand and snow to feel in the feedback system or will it just be a weird rumble and nothing more? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all. More for the PlayStation 5 is going to be out there, and we will have it all here. Be sure to keep checking in for all of that and much more.
