Playtown Opens Its Doors For Us All To Experience The Horrors

Playtown

A new mascot horror title, Playtown, is out there and it will have us roaming for safety all throughout the new Playtown we can have

There is still a wave of mascot horror out there with a few new entries into the “genre”, and here we go with one more in the mix with Playtown. A nice little title that is out there on the PC from TNP Games and Mascot Bro Studio. The humor is not lost on me there. This is a new horror title that takes us into another first-person adventure horror where we have to explore and survive our time in the Playtown. Something that looks like one of the themed restaurant experiences that will have puppets coming to life and trying to kill us. Something that we get a slight taste of here just before having the option to play the horror live for ourselves out there.

In Playtown, we play as a loving father whose daughter has lost a necklace in the indoor playground we were just at. Not wanting his child to be upset, he heads back in and finds that there are all manner of traps and other nightmare things to stop these efforts. Along with a massive mascot that will change and hunt us down. All while solving puzzles and avoiding all of these things so we can make it back out and make our daughter happy. Just about what we would expect in a game like Playtown based on the various others in the genre out there. A genre that seems to keep on going and adding more nightmares from our pasts back into the zeitgeist of the world.

Playtown — Gameplay

Mascot Bro Studio and TNP Games joined forces to announce their new Mascot horror game called Playtown, and it has just been released on Steam!

Playtown is a first-person adventure horror game that takes place inside a kid’s indoor playground. Play as a loving father who is tasked to find his daughter’s missing necklace but beware — as danger can be lurking in every corner. Evade traps, solve mind-bending puzzles to your destination while trying to stay alive, and explore the mysterious playground… but don’t get caught.

Explore what was once a place filled with joy and experience the wonders of an emotional journey to finding your daughter’s lost necklace inside a big indoor playground. A captivating adventure horror game that will tug at your heartstrings. Step into the shoes of a loving father determined to find and reunite his daughter with her precious necklace.

Solve puzzles and try to stay alive in what once was once seen as an amusing attraction. The player is tasked with solving puzzles in order to get to their right destination with dangers lurking at every corner. Every step you will take can be deadly, so make your choice wisely… and don’t lose your sanity.

You will love to meet Steg, the not-so-friendly dinosaur!

The dinosaur-theme indoor playground was once the go-to place for every child to be filled with joy. Steg the dinosaur was everybody’s favorite, however, nobody knows what happens in the playground behind closed doors. Now you must explore the establishment and uncover some nasty secrets.

The fact that Playtown and the launch of other things like it is not lost on me here, even if it does not feel like they are trying to ride any coattails for this game. These kinds of games are what is popular and it makes for the content that so many of the younger gamers out there are loving. The “I’m going to over-react and scream at the camera” kind of content that is devoured by millions still. That is not to say I think Playtown is going to be a terrible game, but I will be curious to see how many actually play the game and how many watch someone else play it or talk about it instead. Something I am growing more and more tired of in the current state of the community and industry.

Were you aware of Playtown before today or did you only learn about it just now? Do you think it will have something new to add to the genre or will it be something that is out there to give “content creators” something to work with? When will we get to see some of these things actually come to life in real horror experiences or will the modern audience be too soft to actually enjoy them on their own? Take to the comments and then feel free to discuss it all as you so wish to do. If we have anything more to share for Playtown, we will do so on the site. Just be sure to keep on checking back for all of those updates and more.
