Mortal Kombat X
We Have Been Given Our First Official Look At Predator In Mortal Kombat X’s Third DLC Pack Out Tomorrow, Or Next Week Depending On Your Purchase
The wait is now over as one of the most anticipated fighters for Mortal Kombat X is coming via DLC as of tomorrow, July 7th, for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC versions of the game. This of course would be Predator which is still a character NetherRealm attributes to being the foundation of the Mortal Kombat franchise and fatalities. We all remember the original spinal column rip fatality from so long ago don’t we? Of course we do but this is all about Predator for Mortal Kombat X and not the early beginnings of the franchise. Yes we were able to see some “leaked” footage last week but now we have an official look.
Sadly though it really does look like my original assumptions on Predator for Mortal Kombat X seem about the same as before. Let us start with the new official trailer before we dig into all of the variations and finishers coming along with the apex hunter in Mortal Kombat X.
Mortal Kombat X — Predator Trailer
As it was easy to assume Predator has all of his fun gear in Mortal Kombat X except for all the cool ones from Predator 2. Well at least the cool net and spear don’t seem to make an appearance as the smart disk and plasma canons are all over the place. I guess there wasn’t a good way to initiate a hold or ranged weapon in Mortal Kombat X that mimics those great items from the second film. At least there is a great way to self-detonate with Predator in Mortal Kombat X and that his invisibility can’t be easily canceled during the fight. At least canceled by the opponent.
Predator
- Warrior — Gains Yautja Strike, Dread Slam, and Self-Detonate
- Hish-Qu-Ten — Gains Plasma Shot and Plasma Caster
- Hunter — Gains Medi-Kit and Snag
Mortal Kombat X — Predator (All Variations)
I guess I’m going to have to keep holding my reservations on the Predator DLC for Mortal Kombat X until it is live and I can get my hands on it personally for now though. It feels like NetherRealm could have done a bit more with the character and just haven’t yet but at least he’s here tomorrow for Mortal Kombat X or next week for those who don’t have the Kombat Pack. Thankfully though for those who don’t have all of that there will be some great FREE DLC giving us a new Scorpion Skin and all those klassic fatalities that Mortal Kombat was well known for back in the day. Ah…the day…
So what do you think about Predator coming to Mortal Kombat X here? Does he look any better now that the pros and developers have shown us how he is handled? Let us know down in the comments so we can talk more about the DLC for Mortal Kombat X and keep it locked in here for more as we will bring you all the updates that NetherRealm wants to give the world for MKX. There will be more as we have one more fighter to go with just this DLC pack.
