Psychonauts 2 Is Hit With Yet Another Delay Until 2020

Psychonauts 2 Is Hit With Yet Another Delay Until 2020

Psychonauts 2

In a new update, it has been revealed that Psychonauts 2 will now be releasing in 2020 to make sure that Psychonauts 2 is the best that it can be

The wait continues for Psychonauts 2 as the release date has been pushed out yet again. Not that we had a solid one set down by Double Fine before now, but it is pushed out once more. It will no longer be hitting the PS4, Xbox One, and various forms of PCs in 2019 and will now be coming in 2020. When exactly? That is still a mystery as all we have is the year at this point. That and the hope that Psychonauts 2 will actually launch after its great showing out at E3 this year. Something that makes this all sting just a bit more than we could have imagined.

For those who do not know, Psychonauts 2 was originally supposed to have launched in 2018 after a successful Fig campaign. Issues came up and it was pushed back until July or August of this year. Nothing specific has been stated as to why, besides making it the best it can be, but now 2020 is the timeline. That could be anywhere from January 1th (hopefully) to December 31th (by the gods no). I do not need to explain calendars to you though. Just know that we will all be waiting for Psychonauts 2 a bit longer and crossing fingers that the new Microsoft buyout will not affect any of the versions of the game.

Psychonauts 2 Update #11 – Our Psychonautical E3

There really shouldn’t be too many other noticeable changes for you at all, at least not for a while…with one notable exception: We’re now targeting next year for release. We know it’s always disappointing when you have to wait a bit longer, but we also know that you are an amazing, supportive bunch, who – just like us – want the game to be as good as possible. So we’re hopeful you’ll understand! <3

Psychonauts 2 will still be coming to *ALL* promised platforms: PC, Mac, Linux, PS4, and of course — Xbox 🙂

Are you ready to flip tables over the delay of Psychonauts 2 or do you just want it to be the best it can be? Is it a bit shocking given how well it looked and was received out at E3? Could this all be part of the Microsoft purchase of the studio or is that too tinfoil hat for you? Let us know what you are thinking down in the comments and then feel free to discuss. When we have a new update for Psychonauts 2, we will share it with you here. All you need to do is keep checking back in for all of that in a timely manner.
