Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
New previews for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is here to show off a bit more gameplay for Ratchet & Clank and how it will be different
We have a month to wait for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart to hit the PS5 and that means that some of those early preview builds are flowing out there for us to take a look at. Some of us have a chance to actually play a bit of the game before June 11th and some of us have to sit back and take a look at the bits of gameplay others are able to put out there instead. We are in the latter group, but that does not mean we are not excited to dive in on the up-and-coming Ratchet & Clank title from Insomniac Games here. That is why we are here to share things with you too so you do not miss out on it too. Even if it does feel like it is getting hyped up by others more than we are able to tell for now. We will try to get a feel for it all from all of that, though.
In this bit of b-roll we have, we get to see how the power of the PS5 makes things shift even more seamlessly here in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart as Rivet move about the scenes. Something we have seen before in past gameplay, but the bigger thing is to see how cinematic some of these scenes will play out and the bigger ones have to come to the rail grinding section here. This portion totally looks like it highlights one of the things the development team is amazing at while keeping the gameplay flowing just as well. That has me insanely excited for even though this kind of gameplay is not always my favorite in an action and adventure title. Not that it should not have been expected in a Ratchet & Clank title, but this looks like it is done so perfectly well here.
It is also interesting to find out that part of this title came about by the team wanting to break up the Ratchet & Clank team we normally have. In terms of the story, that is. This is why we are going to see more of a Rivet & Clank team here with Ratchet being on his own in many portions of the game. I like this way more than the idea of having a different world where Ratchet is more of a downer and “evil” version instead. Rivet is just a version of the character where Clank was not around and also the various other things that crafted her into the world. Although, it is kind of concerning to hear that these might be the only big shifts in dimensions we will have in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart here. I hope that is just a bad assumption here.
