Red Dead Redemption 2 — Official Trailer #3
America, 1899. The end of the wild west era has begun as lawmen hunt down the last remaining outlaw gangs. Those who will not surrender or succumb are killed.
After a robbery goes badly wrong in the western town of Blackwater, Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang are forced to flee. With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steal and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive. As deepening internal divisions threaten to tear the gang apart, Arthur must make a choice between his own ideals and loyalty to the gang who raised him.
If you were eagle-eyed there, you may have caught a glimpse of a young John Marston there in Red Dead Redemption 2. Something that we all figured was going to happen here but now we have a clear shot of it all. Given the link to the main gang in this title in makes sense. It also firmly shows how prior in the story line of the franchise that Red Dead Redemption 2 is taking place. Unless all of this is a flashback or storytelling element. Given that we have a sequel numbering for the game and the story is a prequel, at least so far, it could make sense. That or Rockstar Games is just doing whatever they want with normal conventions of numbering and such. I guess we will need to wait and find out soon or in October.

Do you think that the whole game will truly be a prequel or will it be tied to the sequel numbering we have here?
