Injustice 2
Red Hood has been slated to come to Injustice 2 in June and now we not only know when he’ll join Injustice 2 but we can see more of his action
If you’ve been keeping up with Injustice 2 since launch then it is no surprise to you that Red Hood is one of the DLC characters that will be coming to the game. Hells, if you’ve updated the game on the PS4 or Xbox One to the latest build that NetherRealm Studios has put out there then you definitely know as he and silhouettes of the other fighters can also be seen in the game. Pretty much as the team has been getting Injustice 2 ready for all of the future characters to flow on in and now it looks like June 13th will be the day that Red Hood becomes available to all those who want to play as him. With a few caveats at least.
If you are really wanting to play as Red Hood in Injustice 2 then of course you’ll have had to have picked up the bundled DLC or purchased one of the bigger editions of the game. He comes right along with them all and as of next Tuesday he will be open to play. If you were holding off on all of that, don’t fret, you’ll also be able to pick him up all by himself, but on June 20th instead. Seems about the norm here. Also part of the norm for the studio is that there will be a specific Multiverse Event for Injustice 2 at the same time that will let those hold outs give Red Hood a play for a bit to see if he will be something they want to have in the roster.
Of course, you don’t need to wait at all to see the character in action for Injustice 2. As with all of the other characters out there, NetherRealm Studios held a small event to show off the characters and all of the moves, abilities, and special attacks that we’ll get to employ. He is an agile character who makes use of Gun-Fu so expect a lot of quick moves with lower damage. Mix in the character ability to change stances between firearms to dual-tasers, then you can see how he can keep everything mixed up and in the air. Have a look at just what was shown and then get ready for the character to drop during E3 week.
Injustice 2 — Red Hood Gameplay
Red Hood
Jason Todd once served as Batman’s second protégé “Robin” before being brutally murdered by The Joker. Years later, the powerful healing waters of the Lazarus Pit brought Jason Todd back to life. However the power of the pit comes at a cost, and a change takes hold in Jason. He now uses mantle of the Red Hood to wage a lethal war on crime.
In addition to Red Hood showing up in Injustice 2 currently, it looks like other characters have their head-shots added in too. Of course two of them are the previously announced Starfire and Sub Zero, but there are three others that have popped in as well. These could be place holders for now, but one looks a lot like Black Manta, another like a shrunken version of The Atom, and the last a lot like Raiden. I’m hoping that I am wrong on the last one or these are just holding spots for Injustice 2 characters as it would seem like a huge disservice to have yet another Mortal Kombat character added in here when a perfectly good DC or other franchise fighter could take the slot. I’m still holding out for some of the others like Spawn and Constantine but those could be pipe dreams for now.
After seeing him in action here for Injustice 2, what do you think of Red Hood? Does he look like he will be and stay a well-balanced fighter or will he be used to troll and annoy many people when they venture online to fight? Have you seen the other character images yet in-game and have come to the same conclusion that I have about them? Let us know down in the comments and the discuss. Hopefully we’ll get to see more of the DLC fighters here at E3 given that NetherRealm Studios will be out there to show things off. Either way, we will have all of those updates and breakdowns here for you. Keep checking back in on the site to make sure you have seen it all before you purchase.
