Resident Evil 4 Will Pull Us All Into The VR Mode Very Soon Here

Resident Evil 4

The next Resident Evil VR mode is on the way to us all with the launch of Resident Evil 4 VR Mode next week

The VR mode is almost here for Resident Evil 4 and those looking to see how it all functions with the PSVR2 headset only need to wait until December 8th to feel how that is going to be. A short little wait until we get to experience yet another of Capcom‘s titles in this space to bring some ultimate horror into our lives. Seriously, if you have not experienced a Resident Evil title in VR, you should give that a try and see how brave you really are. Not to mention, this one title is the biggest and best we have had from them It will truly be a treat for those fans that can afford to have all of the extra toys on top of having the games needed.

Along with this new 360 way to experience Resident Evil 4, it will give us all a few more bits of fun to have in the VR space so we are not just going through the full game over and over with the headset on. Most of these features will be along the lines of shooting galleries and the like, so do not get too excited. We are not talking about getting full-on story bits or experiences as we did with Resident Evil 7 in the past. That would have been more engaging, but given how the shooting will be for many, having these kinds of games in the mix will be helpful so we can get even better at the game and make our runs through it even easier each time.

Resident Evil 4 — VR Mode Launch

Got something new for ya, stranger! Resident Evil 4 VR Mode is welcoming players to enter the world of survival horror on Dec. 8, 2023. Step into the boots of Leon S. Kennedy and experience his action-packed journey closer than ever with PlayStation VR2. This immersive new way to enjoy the award-winning title will be available as free DLC for all PlayStation 5 owners of Resident Evil 4.

A free demo for Resident Evil 4 VR Mode is creeping to the PlayStation Store the same day. The Resident Evil 4 VR Mode Gameplay Demo provides a 360° look at the game’s opening and new features, including the Shooting Range, where players can experiment with weapons and get a feel for the realistic controls.

Resident Evil 4 VR Mode supports the full main story campaign and delivers an added level of immersion to Leon S. Kennedy’s harrowing rescue mission. The experience lets players see the terrifying world directly through Leon’s eyes and soak in his surroundings with the 4K HDR display of PlayStation VR2. Resident Evil 4 VR Mode further enhances the atmosphere with 3D audio so players can hear the threats lurking around every corner.

In addition to grounding players in this hostile environment, Resident Evil 4 VR Mode heightens the realism with PlayStation VR2 Sense technology. The intuitive controls provide new ways to interact with the world. Weapons can be handled with natural motions, including unique gestures for reloading specific firearms, such as handguns, shotguns, and rifles. This also extends to the game’s enhanced knife action for those close encounters.

Resident Evil 4 VR Mode also features a Shooting Range mode that provides a training ground to help players hone their combat skills by testing out the aiming, firing, and reload mechanics for each weapon.

Resident Evil 4 is available now across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. The title is also set to debut on iPhone 15 Pro and all iPads and Macs with the M1 chip or later on Dec. 20, 2023.

I am curious to find out how the PSVR Sense technology is going to be used in the works of all of this. The 3D audio makes a bit of sense as it will always help us to not get too surprised or jumped along the way. I am sure there will be some level of feedback from the weapons and hits we take in the game, but this is the kind of immersion I know I have been waiting for when it comes to my Resident Evil games and just want to know before putting the headset on. It is only one more week to wait, but still, it is very exciting and it is going to be a brutal wait to get to feel how all of that is going to be out there.

Have you had a chance to experience any of the Resident Evil titles in VR yet or will this be your first jaunt into that? Do you think the extra bits will have enough for the replay value of the game or will we only do one run in VR? Will we see anything more to expand the game in the VR mode beyond that down the line or will we just need to wait for the next remake to come to us all? Take to the comments to discuss it all and let the world know what is on your mind. For more on Resident Evil 4 and this VR Mode, please keep on checking back on the site for all of that and everything else we have to share for it all.
