Resident Evil Origins Collection
A new compilation has been announced in the way of Resident Evil Origins Collection as well as the ability to play as Wesker in Resident Evil 0 Remaster
If you are hoping for another good fill of Resident Evil goodness then…you’ll have to wait until January 19th of 2016. The good news on that is not only are we getting the Resident Evil 0 Remaster title from Capcom but we are also getting a Resident Evil Origins Collection. That would be both of the Resident Evil remasters in one place for the price of $39.99 USD. At least if you are playing on the PS4 or Xbox One. If you are looking for the similar Resident Evil experience you’ll still have to buy each title separately on the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. Sorry to all of you who are going to miss out on the Resident Evil Origins Collection there for some reason.
To go along with the announcement of Resident Evil Origins Collection of course we have a new trailer to show off. It does of course focus more on the Resident Evil 0 side of things as the other remaster has already been out for quite some time already and Capcom want to make sure we all buy that one even if we have no interest in the Resident Evil Origins Collection. It’s how it will be marketed for those of us who don’t want to see just the gameplay and make a choice to get Resident Evil 0 on its own or in the bundle. We won’t fault anyone on that end as of yet.

But wait…there’s more.
Also announced from Capcom outside of the new bundle is a new feature they are adding in just for this remaster of Resident Evil 0. It is called Wesker Mode and it allows us to play through the game replacing Billy Coen with Albert Wesker. Not just any Wesker though as he will be coming along with his own extra abilities for Resident Evil 0 as well as matching skins for himself and Rebecca Chambers to make sure everything is color coordinated for the team. You can’t spell ‘Team’ with an ‘I’ unless you want to make things weird in Resident Evil 0. ‘Teami’ doesn’t really fit in the S.T.A.R.S. way now does it? Nope.
Resident Evil 0 — Wesker Mode
I do find it a bit odd here in Resident Evil 0 to have a mode like this where Wesker is at a stage far beyond where he ends in Resident Evil. I get it is just a gameplay mode but it seems continuity changing when he is all tricked out like he was in Resident Evil 5 but right at the beginning of the first outbreak. I was kind of hoping that Wesker Mode was more of a behind the scenes extra for Resident Evil 0 just as the Ada Wong Mode was for Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4. I guess Capcom only had so much time to cram in something new to help sell Resident Evil 0 this January.
Will you be getting the Resident Evil Origins Collection or just buying Resident Evil 0 on its own? What do you think about the new Wesker Mode for Resident Evil 0 here? Do you think there will be sly jokes to poke at the inconsistencies? Should we just ignore that and have fun in Resident Evil 0 as Wesker? Let us know down in the comments and let the discussion begin. There is still a good chunk of time before January 19th so hopefully we will get even more details on Resident Evil Origins Collection and the Wesker Mode out of Capcom. As we do we will have them all here so be sure to keep checking back.
