Capes
A new turn-based title, Capes, is on the way to us all with Capes having us take the streets as a hero to stop those villains
More heroes are coming out of the woodwork with the announcement we have for Capes here. Not in the way of any heroes that have been in the mainstream so far, but the ones that Spitfire Interactive have been working on for a while and now expanding things with the help of Daedalic Entertainment. The expansion is that Capes will be hitting the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch on top of the PC. All so we can have the best chance to experience this new turn-based title where we get to make our own heroes out there to bring down the various new villains.
The bigger announcement for Capes here, beyond coming to the attention of the masses, is that it will be expanding its release platforms out there. We do have a little bit to see on how the game will flow a little bit and it looks like some of the various other turn-based titles out there. It is a little unclear if we are going to be able to make our own full hero in Capes or just play as one of the various characters that have been crafted for us. I am going to guess it will be more on the pre-generated side of things since we have the animatics to help tell the story, but that is not a huge issue. As long as we get something that mixes things up beyond just the same powers we see on all of these kinds of teams.
Capes — Announcement
Developer Spitfire Interactive and Publisher Daedalic Entertainment are proud to announce they are teaming up to launch the superhero epic, Capes. The title’s development will continue to be helmed by the Australian studio. However, Capes will now be featured as a part of Daedalic’s publishing line-up and will see the light of day later this year on multiple platforms!
Capes was already in development from Spitfire Interactive for PC games. Still, with Daedalic Entertainment now publishing the game, the team is thrilled to be able to bring their tactical, turn-based game of superheroes battling to reclaim their city from the forces of evil to Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox X|S as well. A brand-new demo will be available during Steam Next Fest starting today and until February 13th.
Capes is a turn-based superhero strategy game where players assemble a team of unique heroes while fighting to take back their city, now controlled by evil despots. Twenty years ago, the supervillains won. Since then, they’ve created a dystopian city where developing superpowers is a crime and no one has dared oppose them. Until now!
Play across a series of dark and gritty campaigns and patrol assignments, push the story forward, or take time to explore with side missions that unlock more heroes. Complete challenges to earn skill points to increase your hero’s powers and abilities while you learn more about the hero’s lives and backstories.
Features:
- Be Mighty: Play as heroic protectors of the innocent, each with unique skills and powers. Master your hero and unleash devastating ultimate abilities!
- Assemble Your Team: Select the right team for the right mission. Combat isn’t based on random numbers, so choose wisely to win the day!
- Level Up: Complete challenging missions and side-quests to improve your heroes with new abilities and powerful upgrades!
- Defeat Evil: Face down vile villains and criminal corporate henchmen. Do you have what it takes to free your city from the clutches of villainy?
Do you have any fun thoughts about Capes here or will you need to see more before you are able to piece any of that together? Would you want to be able to build your own hero in this mix or will it be nice to have a pre-generated one out there? What will be in the mix of the gameplay loop to change things up or will it be a by-the-numbers turn-based title just with Heroes and Villains? Take to the comment section and start talking about all of it as you so wish to do. When there is something to share for Capes, we will be sure to add the update here or on our various social accounts out there. Just keep your eyes peeled to be able to catch all of that out there.
