See Just How Assassin’s Creed Origins Will Actually Play For Us

Assassin’s Creed Origins

A new chunk of Assassin’s Creed Origins gameplay has made its way online and shows us just how Assassin’s Creed Origins will play in our hands

If there is one thing that Ubisoft does well it is showing off a lot of the best ways to play their games like they did with Assassin’s Creed Origins. It makes sense that they want to make sure we all see how the game should play out when we pick it up on October 27th, but a lot of the times it is not the same experience that we all have. Not due to any doctoring up of the footage or changing the resolutions that we will never see at home for Assassin’s Creed Origins. It seems like that is all pretty solid based on what we’ve seen so far. What does look “doctored” is the play-throughs of the missions by the developers who know how every little bit of the game handles. That is why we are usually left wanting at the end of the day because we can’t get the game playing like that out of the gate.

We’ve seen a lot of gameplay already for Assassin’s Creed Origins, but now we get to see some from the side of the gamers out there and see just how it will handle in our hands. Spoiler alert, a lot like all of the other titles in the franchise from what we can see here. Unless the “driver” was completely new to how an Assassin’s Creed game plays, I have a feeling that we are in store for a lot of what we already know from the franchise. At least the good parts so far as I have yet to see anything in Origins that is going to be a letdown as long as we don’t expect a complete overhaul to the entire franchise. That’s just not going to happen and we should all know that by now.

Assassin’s Creed Origins — 20 Minutes Of Xbox One X Gameplay

Join us as we have a sneak around the new Ancient Egyptian playground of Assassin’s Creed Origins, coming to Xbox One, PS4 and PC!

Yes, there will be a lot of traveling around in Assassin’s Creed Origins; by sea and by land. Not a huge shocker and it looks a lot more like how it all worked in Black Flag to me which is a great thing. Although it is a bit weird to see the NPCs “relax” more when you “borrow” their ship to sail around. Maybe there is an in-game reason for this that we have yet to see or experience, but that is the only weird thing to me. I am interested to see if there were also parts of the HUD turned off here as it looked like the usual Map and commands seemed to be missing. Maybe this is Ubisoft‘s way of making Assassin’s Creed Origins a bit harder given all of the easy aspects that have been added over the years.

I am a bit curious to see more on the river/sea travel that we had a small look at here for Assassin’s Creed Origins though. More in terms of the blood in the water and if that will attract things that we don’t want to deal with in the long run or if they will stay clear in busy parts of the area. It would seem that crocodiles would be all over the place with what we saw here, but maybe the boats keep that all free for us to swim in. I guess we will all find out at a later time, but for now we can only speculate and try to figure it all out. I mean, the driver of this demo seemed to kind of know what they were doing and maybe it was just them not looking for trouble here.

Are you glad to see a non-developer play through some of Assassin’s Creed Origins here and did it give you a better feel for the game now? Do you agree that it looks like it will play like some of the better titles in the past based on this or are you still one of the gamers call afoul for the franchise? Do you think that crocodiles and other predators will be a bigger issue in the full game or was this a better representation of how it should feel? Let us know down in the comments and the feel free to discuss. For more on Assassin’s Creed Origins, we hope to have it here for you. We still have some time before it launches and hopefully we will get a lot more as the days and month push on.
