Killing Floor 3

Go behind the scenes with Killing Floor 3 to see how the monsters are made in the world of Killing Floor

There is still a whole lot of time, seemingly, until we will see the full version of Killing Floor 3 out there on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC but that does not mean we will not get some fun little updates along the way. This was something I am sure we all knew was coming after Tripwire Interactive originally announced this sequel not too long ago. Now, though, we get to go a little bit behind the scenes for Killing Floor 3 to see just how the team is bringing the monsters that we will be facing off with in the game to life. Yes, this is another update on how the sausage is made for some of our favorite video games out there.

You can dive into the latest update for Killing Floor 3 just a bit lower as the video takes us through some of the thoughts and inspirations that will be bringing the monsters to life in the game. Monsters that always looked and felt like a mix of flesh and machine with a lot of the body horror elements out there used to help this along. This is something that the team definitely used in the creative process with many things from the 80s helping shape all of the creatures in Killing Floor. Here we get to see how one of the main flesh golems of the game went from concept into one of the main things we will have to survive in the game. Have a look and see if its monolithic nature is going to instill all the fear it normally should out there.

Killing Floor 3 — Making A Monster [BTS]

Join Bryan Wynia, Creative Director at Tripwire Interactive, along with Neil Huxley and Milan Nikolic from Hydra Studios, for an intimate discussion detailing the body horror inspirations, creative process, and production of the Killing Floor 3 reveal trailer, setting the terrifying tone for the next chapter in the legendary action/horror Killing Floor franchise.

Killing Floor 3 is the next installment in the legendary co-op action/horror FPS series. The year is 2091, 70 years after the events in Killing Floor 2, and megacorp Horzine has produced the ultimate army: an obedient horde of bio-engineered monstrosities called Zeds. Now, the only thing standing between these infernal creations and the future of humanity is the rebel rogue group known as Nightfall. This intense first-person shooter puts players in the role of a Nightfall specialist, joining forces with up to five teammates as they battle through a war-ravaged, dystopian future, surviving unrelenting waves of Zeds, unlocking new skills, and building the ultimate arsenal.

I have always been a huge fan of this kind of horror in my world and I am glad to see that Killing Floor 3 is going to keep it going. Even if it might be hard to appreciate in the mix of it all as they do look like they are going to come fast and hard during the game. This is why I am always a fan of these kinds of videos, so we can see just how the art team put their minds together to create something that will haunt dreams well after the game is over. That may not be the full goal in the start, but how Killing Floor has evolved over the years, this is what it feels like it has become. I only wish it was easier to get the 3D models out there so we could maybe have them printed in our homes all the time.

How do you feel about this new look at Killing Floor 3 and how the monsters are being made? Are you a fan of body horror and do you think this is going to go far enough in the mix or will they need to step things up for us? Would you want to have statues of all of the creatures in your home so you can see them all the time or is seeing them in the game good enough for now? Head to the comment section to discuss all of this and everything else that we have to share for the game. We have a lot more on the way for Killing Floor 3, so please keep on coming in to see and hear all of that as we continue through the development process.
