Serve Up Some New Horror With Friends Soon In Happy’s Humble Burgatory

Happy’s Humble Burgatory

The Happy’s Humble saga carries on, with a new co-op version on the way in the form of Happy’s Humble Burgatory

We’ll be firing up the grills again on July 16th, as Happy’s Humble Burgatory is on the way to the PC to give us more horror in the creepy world that Scythe Studios has built for us. Not in the way of a sequel to the previous Happy’s Humble Burger Farm, but with a new co-op horror experience that will have us and 3 other friends serving up the food and trying to survive the night. Only with a few extra twists that we didn’t have to deal with in the original game out there. Twists that can both help us in our shifts, or make sure we’re not making it home with our pay. Well, our pay or at all, as it could bring some of the darkness into our virtual lives a little faster. All based on things we might be saying in the real world out here. Creepy, but it looks like so much fun.

Those who have played the original will know the basics we’re going to go through in Happy’s Humble Burgatory. That was a fast-food restaurant sim, where some of the patrons and the world were a lot scarier than they could have been in the real world. We’d have to show up, take orders, make the food, clean the restaurant, and ensure that we didn’t let any of the evil inside. In Happy’s Humble Burgatory, it will be similar, just with up to 4 players involved this time. All so we can hit new quotas and make more scratch before the horrors set in. The fun little twist here, though, is that as we speak into our mics, the game can and will react to what we say. From the description, it sounds as if we can say certain things that will give us perks in the runs, while there might be certain things that will open portals and create more chaos than we could ever imagine out there. I wonder how long it will take before we get a full list of words and phrases not to say, but we’ll know for sure in just a few weeks when our shifts all start.

Happy’s Humble Burgatory — Announcement

tinyBuild and Scythe Studios, the creators of the acclaimed 2021 indie horror hit Happy’s Humble Burger Farm, welcome you back to the grill in Happy’s Humble Burgatory, a new first-person cooking horror game for 1-4 players set in the shared Scythe universe, coming to Steam on July 16. Grill burgers, serve customers, and hit your quota before the kitchen turns into a nightmare. Escape Asset Joy’s hunt alive and extract with your hard-earned cash to survive another shift.

Key Features:

  • Cook, Serve, Hit Your Quota: You and your crew are hired to participate in an experiment run by the Paragon Corporation. It seems like a standard fast-food gig: grill burgers, fry sides, pour drinks, work the register, hit your quota, and keep the customers happy. What could go wrong?
  • Escape The Nightmare: Every shift is a ticking clock – the kitchen always wins eventually. Once the simulation collapses, Asset Joy breaks containment and begins her hunt. The iconic mascot is back for blood – and you only have one chance to escape!
  • The Walls Are Listening: The game reacts to what you say on mic. Speak the wrong word, and Asset Joy will hear you. Speak the right incantation, and the kitchen may warp to your advantage. Learn how to use your words properly… and what to never say aloud if you don’t want to anger the beast.
  • Every Shift Is Uniquely Unhinged: Over 35 modifiers ensure each run goes off the rails in unique ways. Rush Hour brings additional customers for a more profitable yet more chaotic shift. Profanity Policy punishes the team every time someone swears on mic. Back Burner changes all recipes mid-run. You never know what to expect next!
  • Extract With Your Hard-Earned Cash: Escape alive and your earnings come with you! Spend them on boosters, sacrifice them to the ascension ritual to move the story forward, or gamble them on harder contracts for bigger payouts.
  • Happy’s Humble Saga Continues: Burgatory is the next chapter in the Scythe Studios Universe, and a direct successor to Happy’s Humble Burger Farm, peeling back another layer of the Paragon Corporation’s reality-warping simulation program. Ready to go down the rabbit hole again?

Happy’s Humble Burgatory will launch on Steam on July 16!

Did you have a chance to go through the horrors of Happy’s Humble Burger Farm the first time around? Will adding more workers just add more to the chaos each night? How close to some of the phrases will we have to be before the game fires off some of the reactions? Will there be something to stop players from only speaking aloud the things that will only help them along the way? Let’s talk all of that out in the comment section a bit further down the page here. We’ll have to see if Happy’s Humble Burgatory will be the follow-up to what many enjoyed as a solo adventure. Not to mention, wait to see if it will leap onto all of the other platforms the first game landed on in the end. We’ll be here for that full ride, so please watch the site and follow all of our socials to make sure you are working right along with us.
