Batman: Arkham Shadow
A new story is coming with Batman: Arkham Shadow that will place Batman back in a familiar universe but with a story we might have wanted
Just as we were all promised for the Summer Game Fest event, we have something new to look at for Batman: Arkham Shadow. That would be the new title coming to the Meta Quest 3 that Camouflaj is working on, if you missed out on that announcement a while back. This new update for Batman: Arkham Shadow, though, gives us more of the story and when this game will be taking place. Also, in which of the timelines it is all going down in. The best news of it all, it is taking place about two years after the events of Arkham Origins. Let us see what else this one is going to have for us when it launches this coming Fall.
We now have the solid confirmation that it is all happening in the Batman: Arkham timeline, so we can have one more attempt at a good entry after the last one… well… happened. This one will place us in Gotham during the Fourth Of July and the Rat King is going to be causing some hell out there. Along with that, we will also get to see where other of the bigger villains in the line came about and became some of the greats. It is all going to sound like a weird choice to go with, but if we have seen it with other Batman stories, sometimes the C-list villains are the ones that can have some intense stories instead of seeing the same recycled things with the A-list characters. Have a look and get further teased.
Batman: Arkham Shadow — Story
Available Fall 2024. Only on Meta Quest 3.
It’s the Fourth of July, and Gotham City is under attack by a new threat: the mysterious Rat King and his cultish devotees. As widespread rioting engulfs the city, Batman races to prevent this so-called “Day of Wrath,” but it all goes wrong.
Experience Gotham City like never before in this immersive, full-length entry in the Arkham franchise. Set roughly 2 years after the events of Batman: Arkham Origins, you’ll experience the origins of such iconic characters as The Scarecrow, Harley Quinn, and more.
I would have liked to see how they are handling some of the gameplay in Batman: Arkham Shadow, but I guess that is something to look forward to seeing at SDCC this year and some of the other shows before it launches. I also have to say that it is interesting to hear the voice of Batman feel like it is coming through even if the iconic voice left us all not too long ago. I am curious to find out the actor for it all or if there are some other tricks they are going with, but it all sounds perfect for the Arkham universe. Now if only we could see Dogwelder show up in one of these games, I would be the happiest of campers out there.
Are you excited to see this new chapter of Batman out there in these games or will you have to skip it due to the platform it is on? Will we see some solid links between all of the games or will it only pay a little homage to it all as some of the other titles did? Could we see more of the C-list villains used in future games for the character after this or will it always need to have the Joker in the mix somehow? Take to the comments and type all of those thoughts out there to us. We will keep on offering up what we can for Batman: Arkham Shadow here, so please keep on checking back for those updates and many others we have to come. I have faith we are still waiting on some of the best to still flow on out there.
