Silent Hill: Ascension

Things for Silent Hill: Ascension are kicking off on Halloween to pull us all back into Silent Hill

We have all been waiting for it and now we know just when the fun of Silent Hill: Ascension is going to be kicking off. That date has now been set for Halloween night, October 31st, at 6 pm PST for those who have nothing else to do on that Tuesday night. Genvid is finally ready to give us the Silent Hill we have been dying for and then let us all shape it as we so want to. A bit of an odd thing to let the crowd offer up the ways to finish out the story and shape the characters, but it should be a fun social experiment for the gaming community out there. Given that we all will get to vote on just how things shape from day to day over the next six months from the launch. That does seem like a massive amount of time we are all going to have to put in, though, it should be worth it.

In addition to getting the premiere date for Silent Hill: Ascension, the CEO of the studio has also taken to offering up a bit more on how things are going to play out for us. As mentioned, the story will be added to each day over the course of the following six months. We can keep up to date on it live over on the game’s site or on the mobile apps that you can pre-load as of right now. There will be some puzzles and QTEs in the mix that we will also have to work with via these various methods. All so we can help the characters and the story of this Silent Hill flow out there. How they do not know where it will all end is still a mystery since they would need to have the paths planned out, but that could just be part of the mystery of things. It is definitely an interesting way to go about all of this, and you can see a little more just a bit lower down now.

Silent Hill: Ascension — Premiere Date Reveal

The highly-anticipated live series premiere of Silent Hill: Ascension is happening on October 31st, 2023 at 9pm ET / 6pm PT. Genvid CEO Jacob Navok talks about the premiere event and what to expect during the interactive experience.

Silent Hill: Ascension is a thrilling new Genvid Interactive Series where YOU, along with the rest of the community, will impact the canon of Silent Hill.

Every day, your choices and the actions of millions will shape the story and determine its final outcome. Redemption? Suffering? Or Damnation? Their fate is in your hands.

I know I am still iffy on this interesting way to bring us more Silent Hill. I am all for trying new things with the medium and to tell stories. I just have little faith in the gaming community at large and with the team effectively crowdsourcing how the story will go. I will not be surprised if the votes always go with the dumbest option possible or toward the most torturous option available for each of the characters. Humans are always the worst when allowed to work en masse, so I hope that they have something in place to curb that for Silent Hill: Ascension. Unless this is all a rouse and we are only going to be seeing how things could have played out with the dev team already having everything lined up already. That would lose faith in the gamers but most likely give us the best experience we can have for the IP currently.

Did you have any thought that we would not see this Silent Hill experience on or around Halloween this year? Will you be able to keep up on the daily for the next six months or will that be an easy task for any mobile gamer? Do you suspect that they have things already planned out and giving us the illusion of being able to select things along the way? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all. We are going to try to cover Silent Hill: Ascension as close to the daily or weekly as we can. Please keep on checking back in for all of that and everything else we can share with the world during these nights of horror we are diving right into here.
