Sniper Elite is continuing to advance and dive into the realism with the weapons in Sniper Elite 5
Let us all go a be more behind-the-scenes for Sniper Elite 5 with the latest that we have here for the game. May 26th will be the date we can experience this title on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC and from the look of things, it will be the next step in realism and immersion from Rebellion. That is where the latest for Sniper Elite shows things going with how they are bringing all of the weapons and gear from WWII into the game. Including recording all kinds of extra audio to tickle our ears as we head out to take down all of our enemies out there.
It is not the most glamorous of videos to watch and only has a little bit of extra gameplay mixed in for Sniper Elite 5, but we do get to see just how the team is going out there and capturing everything for us. Multiple microphones and distances are being used to record the various ways the sound will function in the game. Including all of the other various weapons we will have and making suppressors function closer to the real world instead of in films. They do make noise still, just not as much to give away a position quickly. It is just interesting to see some of the other weapons from the war showing up in Sniper Elite now. Have a gander and take an extra walk behind-the-scenes for it all.
Sniper Elite 5 — Weapons & Customization
Sniper Elite 5 will release on Xbox Game Pass, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 4 & 5, Epic Games Store, Steam, and Windows Store in 2022. Join us as we take you behind the scenes and show you the meticulous level of detail that goes into creating the game.
Rebellion worked with renowned military historian and star of the Combat Dealers TV show, Bruce Crompton as well as the Imperial War Museum and Royal Armouries Museum to capture thousands of reference images and audio recordings of World War 2 weapons and vehicles to help ensure maximum authenticity.
Sniper Elite 5 offers a level of customization never seen before in the Sniper Elite franchise, you will be able to change a weapon’s stock, magazines, receiver, barrel, scopes, and iron sights as well as the materials. This will also enable you to finesse your weapons to best suit your playstyle, whether that is stealthy and methodical, ‘run and gun’, or a mixture of the two.
Customization options can also be accessed in-game once you have discovered the workbenches in each map; each discovered workbench will unlock further customization options.
