South Park: Snow Day Gives Us Some Of That 3D Gameplay To Look At

South Park: Snow Day

New gameplay for South Park: Snow Day is here to take us all out of the normal look and feel of the South Park setting

The snow is starting to pile up and we are getting closer to what South Park: Snow Day has to offer us all in terms of gameplay. Sadly, no, we do not have a release date for this as of yet as Question Games is still working on it all. We do, however, have a look at some of the new gameplay that THQ Nordic has put together to show off just about what we could expect when playing South Park: Snow Day on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, or PC. Either by ourselves or with a bunch of randos out there on the internet. I am sure I know which way I will be going with all of that.

Just as many of us all assumed from the first bit of gameplay we saw for the game, it looks as if we are losing the traditional look and style of South Park to lean into the 3D side of it all. Given that we are looking at more of an action RPG with a four-player co-op, it works but is a little jarring for fans of the IP. I know it is here. Thankfully, it looks as if South Park: Snow Day is going to be using the same kind of setting that we had back in The Stick Of Truth so we should be a little more familiar with the “New Kid’s” abilities and superpowers. The fart mechanics are coming back along with what looks to be the traditional classes we had for this fantasy setting of the universe. If anything, we have the same humor to go along with the running and jumping about the more action-oriented gameplay you can see below.

South Park: Snow Day — Gameplay

Hey, New Kid! Grab up to three friends, in this four-player co-op, and battle your way through the snow-piled town of South Park on a quest to save the world and enjoy a day without school.

Equip and upgrade devastating melee and ranged weapons. Deploy special abilities and powers that will bring hordes of enemies and epic bosses to their knees.

South Park: Snow Day will be available on Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.

Given my love of South Park, there is no way I will not be giving this title a try. At the very least, it could show that the team still knows how to write an amazing story and fill it with the humor we love even if the gameplay might not be the same. Then again, taking it all into a 3D and action style might complement things better than expected. Given all of the extra references like Cheesy Poofs having healing circle options and such, it could have South Park: Snow Day giving us a new leveled-up experience. We will just need to get used to the new visuals of it all after decades of only seeing these characters and the world in a 2D space. I just hope we get this title sooner instead of later as I need a good RPG to take up some time around here.

How do you feel about the new look for the South Park crew here or will you be crying for it to go back to basics? Will this actually pick up with any of the stories from Stick Of Truth or only use the fantasy setting since it is a different developer and publisher? How much action will we need to go through in the game and will it be easy to play solo along the way? Hike down to the comment section to discuss all of this and everything else we have to share for the game. We are keeping a close eye on South Park: Snow Day, so be sure to keep on checking back for all of those updates and many more as we head toward the game’s inevitable release date. I mean, what else do we all have going on out there?
